Whats going on with the forums?

My direct link to OT was dead, come through the "Tech Forums" button on the main site and get a message that PP is under attack?

Should we be worried?

Rumor has it that a Mustang forum is trying to attack but is having difficulties keeping up with Wayne.

They may have nicer mullets, but I think we've got more spoons. Time to strap on a helmet and start shooting boys!

There is currently a long thread on the 914 forum, with the last few pages specifically talking about this.

It is believed by "Sir Andy" (the owner/ admin of the 914 World website) that the attackers first attacked that website as an act of vengeance, and after shutting down that website, the attackers then used google to find out where the 914 people migrated to (the 914 forum here)... and the attackers are now attacking that forum.

It's my understanding that the 914 forum is their target.

Wayne,
I'm hoping you are working on a revision to 101 projects for your 911 making it perhaps 101 new projects. I'm running out of projects having followed your book for the past 4 years.

PS: I love your book. Very helpful in innumerable weys.

Thanks,

Jack

I was thinking maybe Wayne can isolate the 914 forum as a test, to see if that solves the problem for the rest of the forums.

The BMW bike parts classifieds have been getting crushed with Chinese spammers too.

It won't. A DoS or DDoS attack just basically sends a TON of crap traffic to a particular IP, the server is so busy handling that that it can't handle the legitimate stuff...

How dare those VWs come in here and stink the place up. Weren't they banned from the Porsche Club way back in the day anyways. They aren't real Porsches.
