Was to be 59%-didn't notice much difference. A bit of subdued sunlight against the metal shed -that is all.
Trying to get my Son excited about it while talking to him on the phone 2 kilometers away. After all my excitement, about this, his lameness about me will still be as is. Perpetual.

We watched it, everything had a kinda dull tint to it. Bet Kalifornia is trying to figure out how to tax the s**t out of the people who watched it.

Got a little dim here. Took me a minute to realize what was going on.

I was in the middle of a woodworking project, but quickly grab a pair of binoculars and some white paper.

I was lucky enough to see the full "ring of fire." A friend is a high school science teacher so her and her husband hosted a viewing party and provided all sorts of ways to watch the eclipse.
Surprised it didn't get darker, but it was still pretty cool though. |

I have 1 welding shield, one welding helmet and a spare lens. So everyone including the neighbors could watch it safely. In our area it went about as much as widebody's pictures. It definitely dimmed the overall light noticeably. Nice event for sure.

Well, the marine layer (overcast) moved in at about 4:30 pm and that did it for the chance to see anything. Part of the price you pay for living along the coast.

Perfect viewing in Albuquerque. Clouds? Total eclipse. Happening again in 11 years.

Jim, what a phantastic shot! Were you able to that yourself? How did you do it. I was wondering myself how to get both the sun and the fore ground in the same picture. Is it real or is it PhotoShop?

Well here is my shot:
![]() I took the chance to give my 79 Targa a little work out. Took a trip from Los Angeles to Utah. I did map out the general location where the maximum effect, the "ring of fire" can be seen. I learned a good place to watch it is somewhere between St.George and Cedar City in Utah. Saturday evening I decided to get on the road. Stayed overnight in Las Vegas. Sunday drove to Cedar City and learned in a nice old fashioned coffee shop that Kanarraville, south of there is supposed the place to watch the ring of fire. Backed up south on Interstate 15 to the spot. Very popular with People coming down from Salt Lake City and up from Las Vegas. There must have been 1000's of eager spectators. Quite big and friendly crowd settling in for the show, one big party! But, no Porsches! Except for yours truly!
