I remember something about the trucks having to have a trash bag holder as a requirement for sale in Canada. I guess they just made the a permanent fixture on all of them.

Had what was called a "takeaway" hook for take out food in my Land Rover Discovery Series II, in roughly the same area. When I got my 2007 F250, I figured it is for the same purpose.
