Two rods in his leg.
About thirty stapes holding him together.
rymadyl, gabapentin, trazadone and something else I’m forgetting.
Just under five thousand dollars.
Two months enforced bed rest. We’re sleeping in bags on the floor next to him to make sure he doesn’t get up. Going to have to buy a crate.

If the rods don’t hold the next step is amputation.

Total **** show.

RIP, Angel.

Angel shared lots of love with us over the last 12 years, She rescued us after a previous dog passed. We think she was probably 14-15yo. She wasn't feeling well yesterday and passed early this morning.

Angel ready to go to the dog park.

Angel was 35#, but liked to crawl into her brother's (12#) kennel. It was always amazing how tiny a ball she could curl herself into.

Angel looks like a sweetheart- sorry to hear she's moved on. Glad to hear she didn't suffer long. I have a 50 lb poodle that like the 15 lb dog beds. She can sit in them or lay down over the edges.

Thanks everyone.

She rescued me following the passing of a previous pup due to the complication of being spayed.

We had Yuki for 2 years and took her to get spayed. She passed 3 days later. I think she was too active and started bleeding internally. Angel came into my life pretty shortly after that. Angel was a real sweetheart and loved everyone (as long as they weren't using lawn equipment. she hated weedeaters, lawn mowers, etc...).
Yuki loved everyone.

That's tough Steve - Yuki was another pretty girl. They will be there waiting for you....as all of ours will be.

Peace, brother.....

Not really a connection. Being Spayed is a major operation. We were told to not let her jump or be very active for some time so she didn't tear her stitches. I think that she may have jumped up on our son's bed and torn her stitches.

Two days after our pup passed, my uncle passed.

This morning, we woke up and the remaining pup's nose was swollen on one side. I'm not sure if it was swollen first thing or if it was swollen after we came back inside after breakfast. We really can't deal with another hit. We gave him a small dose of benadryl in case it was some sort of bite. Tomorrow, we'll take him to the vet.

Steve,

We are very sorry to hear about your recent losses on both fronts. It’s bad enough to deal with one let alone two. We too had a rough last year so our condolences are sincere.

Stay strong for each other and please keep us updated on the “bug bite” and if there is anything we can do.

T & J
