Not perfect, but it will make a good 500 footer.

Somehow I see Peter Egan buying this out of pity for the poor thing.

i'd like to see how that TR6 owner pads his resume or his list of income tax deductions.

The merc is nice, but my opinion of George Barris wouldn't allow me to pay a premium for one of his authenticated cars until i had done plenty of due-diligence. (as a for instance, he claimed to have built the Monkee-mobile. He owns one but he never built one.)

Surface rust on replaceable body panels like a trunk lid does not bother me.

It's the hidden stuff that scares me.

It reminds me of the British cars I used to own that when you turned the ignition on you hear tick tick tick tick of the fuel pump until the fuel pressure was up. A stubborn one would require a tap of a screwdriver or small hammer. I can't remember if that was Lucas or not but I don't miss that noise in modern cars. It does however make me reflect on the cars I owned in the 60's and 70's......nostalgia is setting in
Was that fuel pump a Lucas or SU or did the latter make carbs. only?

If my memory recalls, it was Lucas. I think SU only did Carbs. I know the noise of which you speak. I have had a couple of Sprites, and MGB, an MGBGT, and an Austin Mini Cooper.
