New Yamaha R6 is fun!
I picked this up last weekend after spending some time looking for a bike that would accompany and possibly replace the '77 Honda cafe. I needed something more modern and worry free that that I could just get on and go. I don't consider myself the sportbike type but definitely more-so than the cruiser/Harley type. I love streetfighters but am unimpressed with anything but the Ducati's or the custom builds. I find the R6 the best looking of the Japanese bikes (CBR, GSXR, Ninja) and I think they got the styling right back in 2006 where the others look a bit dated by now.
Its a 2007 with 6800 miles and is really clean. I removed the passenger foot pegs, a few decals, the reflectors, and added flush mount front turn signals. This thing is a blast to ride! I can't tap all the power but the acceleration at higher rpm's is a hoot. Its so much fun and so worry free. Fuel injection is so nice. After the 100 mile trip home. ![]() All cleaned up later that night with passenger pegs removed. ![]() Decals removed and flush blinkers.

I've liked the Yammies for some time. If I was a track rat I would definitely have one of those.

I had a '99 that I bought new and I loved it. I also thought at that time they were ahead of the others. Enjoy and ride safe.

Really Nice.
It'd kill me but I'd love to have it hanging on my wall.

I have no limits on cars, guns, guitars, etc, and I understand the wife's reasons for her saying no.
I think I am doing okay. As for a pet....................................... not going to touch that one.

Awesome bike, congrats! I raced an AMA-spec R6 back in 2007. I was amazed how it wind up in turn 8 at Willow Springs. When my brain was telling me to shift, I'd look down and see only 12K on the tach. They rev to the moon! Enjoy in good health and be careful.

Very cool bike. I live in awe of you guys who can actually wring these things out for all they are worth. I just can't seem to close that one last synapse that says "let 'er rev... 4k more... it's o.k...." and wind up never getting into the meat of their powerband. At least not very often.

Great looking bike. I never fussed over the "lack of midrange", being that I could never fully wind it up anyway. Have fun with it. Great, minimal mods, too.
