You can trip a red light camera by stopping too far out in the cross walk. If there are cars along side of on your left, you have to creep out in order to see. Especially if you are in a small car next to a large one or one with dark tinted windows. So, you really have to stop 2wice.
I don't trust the cameras so I don't turn on reds if there is a camera. However, I'm pretty sure they are all turned off in LB. There's no official word, but I haven't seen a light flash in 2 years. |

I don't drive often, I know that's not an excuse but it likely explains why I've gotten away with for so long. I've never been in an accident, never had a speeding ticket, never had any type of ticket in fact which shows how little I drive. I actually never even took a drivers test to get my license. I should have educated myself, and I really do plan on reading the rest of the rules I likely don't know as well.

My parents have their cars registered in each others names in Colorado. Apparently the driver has to gender match the person the car is registered to.

Scott, your driving needs help but you're certainly a gentleman. We're piling on you pretty heavily and you haven't even told us to fk ourselves. Impressive.

Believe me after reading the response I'm honestly considering looking into a driving class.

FWIW, I did beat a right turn on red ticket in court once. If you DC guys know Backlick Rd. and 236 in Annandale, there's a service rd. that runs parallel to 236 with about 30' of grass in between. There's a stop line in front of the service rd. and then another where the red light is on 236. I stopped for the service rd., as it's the safe thing to do, looked both ways, continued on with my right turn at the red light without stopping again. Adjacent traffic had a green left turn arrow and there are no U-turns allowed there. So there was no way anyone could have (legally) been in my way and visibility is great in all directions there. Cop came out of thin air and pulled me over in my office parking lot.
In court the cop didn't have his act together and an old lady tore him apart before my case came up. Judge chewed the cop out for having bad notes and not recalling things well. I explained the above to the judge, he was satisfied and said just to make sure to stop at both lines next time. Dismissed.

You got lucky; the judge let you off. You think you could "beat" it again? You need to STOP...and read the red print.

Now, of course, this has morphed into a gotcha game. --Pay us for forgiveness. That is, there was nothing unsafe about your turn (huge visibility.) Yet, there's the machine to catch a 'rule' (morphed from safety) which was broken. They will sell the idea as being for public safety. Obviously it's just the system looking for Mo Money. I don't see you needing safety instruction (self preservation instinct are high in a little 911) You need a bureaucracy fleecing class.

Not sure that I would admit this on an open public forum. Its just asking for more tickets. In fact this entire thread is not a really good idea IMHO...

Even better, the vehicles I drive are registered in a private trust. Try to figure out who is driving them...
