He's a good driver but a terrible instructor (and not much of a BF/husband either), IMHO. He wasn't listening to her at all, he was just showing off. I bet he didn't get anything for quite a while after that. If the student is telling you they're scared the best thing to do is slow down and get them back in the comfort zone for a bit and then explain what you're doing so they allow you to push that limit of their personal boundary again. In other words - listen. It's the best quality an instructor can have.

Also, where were their helmets?

I still remember a ride around Road Atlanta in a genuine 911 RSR. I had been driving the track in my 74 914 2.0 and I thought I was fast. The RSR driver (Duncan P) was warming up the tires for the first lap. I thought he was ready to commit suicide. Way past my braking point he was still accelerating hard and then we just turned. It was awe inspiring haw fast that car was with him driving.

I would love to ride around the ring with a good driver in a fast car. I would really love to drive the ring.

He would make a good F1 driver but that is all.
Insensitive, cocky, arrogant and would make a terrible instructor.
He should be driving alone. And no helmets?

Ummm.... I don't think this was intended as instruction.

Instruction and entertainment are two very different things.

Needs to lose that big scarf and it would probably increase the entertainment value.

He wasn't ever close to pushing that cars limits, most of us would be lucky to even make that run with a max effort. For him it was like driving on the freeway.

LOL I kept thinking that he needs to shove something into her mouth to shut her up

Obviously it was acted out, just for show.
She wasn't a student, she was part of the scene.

It was well done and entertaining tho.

In the 1980's, some of the factory dealer track days had some quirky happenings.

A few that come to mind was a trio of BMW 3 series, driven by pro's and playing bumper tag at speed on the back straight at R/A. I'll add.... these antics were at the end of the day but the cars had sales reps passengers!

Then there was the time a sales rep doufus lost a 928 at speed.... not a good thing.

One time at a Range Rover offroad excursion near Cincinnati, we were instructed to follow exactly inline and behind the lead vehicle. The leader had laid out the route earlier that week and included fording an approx. 2 foot water depth river. Well, as we all followed on the day where fording, the leader falls off the river bed and sinks a NEW Range Rover!

A sub 9 min lap on the 'ring in traffic in a street legal M3 series is strolling pretty quick.
