Probably. But we'll start it here until the poopy heads get it moved.

It seems incredible that a town would turn away non-union workers.

Having witnessed the magnitude of union brainwashing, I'm not a bit surprised. Union loyalty > community.

Just amazing stupidity. Someone is there to help turn your electricity back on and they would rather remain in the dark. F- em. Let them stay in the dark.

Reading the article, its not super clear, maybe there was already enough help from union crews?

But anyway, this does match my experience in dealing with unions when I do trade shows. Unions frustrate the heck out of me with their red tape, and high costs. Especially when you're in an industry, that the people you bring to the trade show to work your booth, do the same things the union guys do.(Electricians, riggers, etc)

I'm not going into my frustrations here, as there may be more to this story than is written.

I was thinking that too, not many details in that story.
I've had my problems with unions at trade shows too. Once I had to bring a crew to unload my truck because the union didn't unload exhibitor's trucks, and then send them home because exhibitor's employees aren't allowed to move anything inside the exhibit hall. One year we unloaded my truck and some union guy started stacking it on a fork lift. I told him to leave it the hell alone I was going to move it all myself. He got his supervisor and we had a pow wow. Turns out an exhibitor can't HIRE anyone to move his stuff, but there is no prohibition against him moving it himself. So I blocked up a dock for about an hour, moving my stuff one piece at a time, while the union guys watched. People who needed the dock fumed and complained about the union guys sitting on their butts while "that guy" tried to get the dock clear for them. Finally somebody pressured the union guys into "helping" someone else while my helpers and I got my stuff out of the way.

I saw on the MSM today that this story is not true. Apparently, the non-union crews are working. . .but that's from the MSM for what it's worth.

Of course non-union crews are working. But that doesn't mean that some union guys aren't pressuring.

People protect their gigs now more than ever.

Probably had more to do with the fact they were from Alabama.

Non-union workers usually don't band up and buy politicians.

If you replace the word "Unions" with imported mexican/chinese/whatever, would the rose smell as sweet?

Been there, done that. You cannot even plug in a 110v cord, they have to hire a UNION electrician to plug it in.

Will NEVER go back and never support any union again...
