Heat wave here in Florida. Sweated a LOT today - in my shorts and tank top work clothes.

Got the oranges off my trees yesterday. So cold here in Sacramento, Calif.
How cold is it? The birds won't fly in it. They are all walking, I swear.
Played two 7 inning games today of Softball and we all froze but at least the grass was iced up and no slush & mud.

Yeah, cold in SoCal! I also thought I'd never use the seat warmer in our car but I sure did this morning. Driving to pick up my granddaughter at 7:30 this morning on the 5 freeway, all of a sudden, a dash alarm goes off right at the Ortega Hwy. exit in San Juan Capistrano. I look at the dash and the message reads, "ICE DANGER. OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE 36*"

Didn't even know my car had that warning feature!

Thermometer in my truck said -3 the other day in Fort Collins on the way to the airport to head to New Delhi. It isn't too bad over here and I'm heading south tonight where it will be warmer.

Vash, what are you hunting?

That reminds me of the one time my ice alarm went off in my old 325e.
4:30 in the morning, it's dark as all get out, I'm half asleep driving up the 405 to go to work.
BONG BONG BONG
WTF is that!

Sure woke me up in a hurry.

Red, you don't worry about the pool freezing as much as the pipes, or the pump. Leave it running or drain it .

I think the tangerines are going to be okay, sweet enough they won't really freeze. I got about 40 or 50 pounds. The mandarin is in a container. I put a tomato cage on either side, toss a sheet over it and hang a light in there. Set it between the grapefruit and navel orange tree, pretty sheltered, fairly close to the house

Watering trees last few days, have it going right now as a matter of fact, have to move it in about 10 minutes. The cold stresses them, they will suck up a fair amount of water and perk up pretty well. Thought I messed up with my Meyer lemon a few days ago, but I put some water on it and it came right back.

A couple of friends and I started riding our bikes with lights around the Rosebowl at 8:30 pm after the kids goes to sleep so we can burn some baby fat. My feet and fingers have been frozen since I got out of my truck. Normally, I do not use tights and did not tonight. Now I am thinking twice about going out with them. It must be about 40-45 degrees out.

I had knee warmers on, and have not worn tights in years. I am always able to warm up after 30-45 minutes. Tonights was one of those nights where I was never warm. Getting too old for this crap. Fingerless gloves had to go after tonight..

My pool has a temp sensor. If the air temp drops to 35F, every pump turns on, including the fountains. 3 years ago we had a bunch of days below 35. I ended up attaching short hoses to the fountain outlets and running them directly into the pool to reduce the fountain noise at night.

We're just bltching. Within a few weeks the temps here in AZ will start trending upward again, and it won't stop until October.
