Is there a statute of limitations on what he did?

That show on the History Channel with the bald guy author and his team? Oh, that was terrible. Hardly a documentary.

I imagine someone has done a statistical analysis of the probability that none of the 10,000 bills was detected assuming they all went onto circulation save the three bundles. Considering velocity and lifespan of a paper bill, how widely disseminated the serial numbers were/weren't, etc. Anyone seen that?

Interesting academia law question. Laws were passed subsequent to his hijack. Can he be charged with a law that did not exist when he did the deed?

I'm sure he nevertheless broke some laws, but I doubt crimes involving interstate movements, federal law, etc, get the statute.

Cooper name was a reporter mistake and his fake name was really put down as Dan Cooper and not D.B.

If I had to put forth a best guess on who D.B. was, he was probably either Kenneth Christiansen or Richard Floyd McCoy, Jr. They seem to be the most likely suspects this many years latter.

The story would make a good movie.
Both of those men Christiansen or Richard Floyd are they still alive? You would think they would fess up right before they were to pass away.

Both are dead. McCoy died in a shootout after being convicted of hijacking another plane in a similar fashion to Cooper. Christiansen died of cancer in the mid 1990's. Christiansen had training, motive, and a lot of money in the bank at his death. McCoy could have just been a copycat criminal, but fit the physical description to the letter of Cooper.

There are other suspects out there but we are approaching the point where we will never know who did this because everyone involved is dying off. The only way I think it can be solved is to link the DNA evidence collected at the time of the crime to some relative of one of the suspects.

As to the SOL, I think Cooper (aka John Doe) has been indicted by a grand jury before the SOL ran out so he can be prosecuted once found.
