iTunes on my PC: Where did my songs go?

Probably rehashing another's rant but albums are disappearing from my iTunes library. Not only CDs I owned and downloaded but stuff I've paid for on iTunes. Also, CDs I load onto my iTunes on the PC won't drag to my iPhone. Not liking iTunes so much anymore. Any advice or how-tos re what appears to be problems with the latest version?

Have you done an iTunes backup at all? Are you working with a Mac or Windows computer?

Just use Linux and don't bother with I-Tunes to manage your devices

New HP PC with latest version of Windows. Transferred old iTunes account over. I knew I shouldn't have installed the newest version of iTunes. That's when the problems began.

Just google, you'll find instructions for rebuilding icons or even complete library rebuild, do a backup first. Not sure what the issue is with dragging to iPhone, you mean you can't sync?

Thanks, I'll Google some help. I think I selected manual sync and when I try to drag new music to my phone it won't.

^^^^ This. iTunes is just the hokiest, worst POS.

After the 7th or 8th time I noticed iTunes "discover" a CD folder that's been ripped and in my library for at least 5-6 years (if not double that) and proudly download it to my iPod as "new", I pretty much stopped using it. Although I see they've "addressed" this problem in the latest update by no longer showing you what tunes it's actually synching to the device... LOL.

Awful. Just truly awful.

iTunes is really the only Apple product that I dislike. It is buggy and counterintuitive, and each update seems to make it worse.
