I have a friend that had a stroke at age 61 a few months ago....Now the bartender cuts him off sometimes because of slurred speech.......Funny, but not funny...

Guessing that you at least got a smile out of Jim (and several others here) with the above post!

Just talked to Jim. Says he is staying away from the computer, too much on it to stress him out. He is doing much better. Resting lots and they are getting ready to start him in therapy. He sounds much better with very little slurring in his speech. Said he was sitting on the back porch enjoying the sunset with a glass of tea.

So all is well, he said he will check in soon.

Thanks Sidney.

I agree the last thing he needs is any urgency to keep us posted.

I'm OK with getting reports through you Sid - at whatever regularity that makes it least stressful for Jim.

Yeah Jim, enjoy the rest. I think you've earned the break. That sunset sounds great, too!

Be well, Jim. Remember, moderation in all things. There's a Russian proverb that says roughly "hasten slowly" meaning often you get there faster by taking it slower. Don't push too hard looking for complete recovery in a day. Do it as you body is able to absorb the exercise and before you know it your shirt will say "I'm drunk, @sshole, not a stroke victim"!

Best of luck Jim and be good.

Mike

'Tis strange how the wind in this room is making my eyes moist, but there are no windows open. Strong emotions also have that effect. Well said, Richard, and thank you.

Jim,
Sorry to hear of your stroke. Best wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery and total healing.
I just dodged a bullet last month. Carotid artery 95% blocked. Had vision problems in my left eye for 2 years, diagnosed as "Ocular Migraines". During routine annual physical doc asks if I still have that eye problem. Two MRI's later and an ambulance ride to Tufts Medical in Boston, I had an emergency Carotid Endarterectomy. I was very, very lucky and am recovering.
Keep the faith.
All the best,
Max

Whew Max Von that sounds like a close one. Glad you caught it in time. Good warning for us all to not just try to ride thin gs out. ( my MO)

Sid have you heard from Jim lately? Send him our best regards if you do talk with him.

Cheers Richard
Thank him for the tip on driving the Trace, My Brother and did the full length and really enjoyed it.
