Obesity, linked to bad music.-perhaps.?

Music, Good Music will always be associated with good times and fun.
Some types and styles of tunes which are locked in a specific time frame will always and have made people 'get up and boogie`.

Nowadays music might as well be as attractive to the population as Australian Aborigines playing the Didgeridoo.
Because pop.music today is so terrible, is this why moreso of the population is FAT?
Perhaps it's not only the food.
Just a thought.

I watched ten seconds of American Idol once, and I wanted real bad to shove a hot-pocket in somebody's mouth, so, hey! I think your theory has merit!

This is honestly one of the more perplexing things I've ever seen posted on this site. Which is saying something........

Makes about as much sense as most studies. Maybe you can get a grant...

Mike, I think you just might have to deal with the idea that you're turing into an old man. Don't blame it on the music.

Or, perhaps you would like to elaborate on what your version of "good times and fun; get up and boogie music" actually is.

If you're here on PPOT, I'm guessing it's the Stones or Aerosmith, but certainly not both. You can tolerate the Beatles, but you're more into Cream and Frampton. You know, "get up and boogie" kind of stuff. Like the kind of the stuff that the internal 28-year old mikeesik inside you still thinks carries a modicum of quality and may or may not necessarily be any 'good', but reminds you of a time when . . . . you . . . were good. And when you . .. . . got up. And boogied.

Such is life and music.

signed,
Dr. Gogar

If obesity is linked to bad music there is an awful lot of bad music.

What I'm saying is throughout the decades, starting from the fifties then sixties and seventies, eighties, nineties and on..... The majority of the population was thinner. As the decades move on, so doe`s the average weight of the population.
Music is a huge factor in getting the young to the older to go out and enjoy it physically.
People used to go out to dance of all ages. Why, because it was the thing to do do because it was a blast to listen to and dance to.
It was a date to go out and dance.
Now the modern music is bunk and to go to a club is a different experience and older than 30 you seek out the retro clubs.
In the past more people of all ages went out to enjoy themselves at a club to dance to the great attractive beats.
Only the jungle drums are beating now.....which many dont respond to.

Perhaps I think in ways like an elderly person.
I do feel old, which is relative to life experience as well.
I am the eldest 39 year old on the forum perhaps?
I guess?
I feel that is a complement.

Cars are smaller. The ozone layer is thinner. Fast food is more prevalent. We sit more and walk less. There are more cell towers per square mile. And wind mills.

You should be investigating all of the above.

The cute skinny kids are still going out and dancing and having fun. You're just not where they are. It's a story repeated over and over through the ages.
