do you collect anything?

i know a lady that collect snow globes. my sister collects those "day of the dead" figurines. my mom collects tiny elephant "things".

me..nothing. i'm asking about big time collections...stuff laid out on display at your home.

i know another lady that collected Hello Kitty junk. i was stunned when she actually got married.

I have a rather extensive collection of swords/knives/daggers and other Far East close combat weapons. Not on display because I haven't gotten around to building cases for them and haven't seen anything commercially available that I like for display purposes. I do have a couple swords hanging alone on the walls of my bedroom, though.

Strange...I knew a gal that collected those Day of the Dead things too...all Mesican I think. Really kinda spooky and she was too for that matter. Friend of mine has a ton of antique guns and military...his collection is in a very secure double locked display room. Neat stuff.. Me, mostly collect dog hair all over my wool shirts

I don't, but one of my uncle's has one of the coolest collections (two actually). One is deer, racks, turkeys, and all kinds of mounts from when he was in Alaska many years ago. But the absolutely coolest is his arrowhead collection... hundreds (if not thousands) of them mounted in cases (which he keeps locked up) and has been collecting for over 50 years...lots of them from "family land" that date back 4-6 thousand years according to him (and he knows his stuff). The spring that feed "our" ponds has probably been there for eons...hence the huge amounts he's obtained there...I've only seen the tip of the iceberg.

I will admit to a few small collections but I am not really an active collector. I have some 'reputed' antiquities . . . a few Egyptian pieces, a small Coptic funerary cloth, a small Mayan piece . . . an old coin collection, a fossil collection from my youth, a few stone & clay Native American pieces from my sod farm year . . .

My favorite:

Vintage cymbals (32) and drums (5 kits.) Didn't realize that I also might have an addiction to collecting cheap guitars (12.)

I collect rocks/minerals and have a decent collection, I also collect food, it started in 1974 with the last x-mas orange, the one that nobody eats and it starts to dry up, I dried it slowly and thats where it started, I have 10-15 oranges, peppers, cherries, tomatoes, burnt hotdogs from a BBQ gone bad, b-day cake, I had KFC potato salad that was 10 years old before SOMEONE threw it out. Its a wierd thing to collect and every piece means something, like my sandwitch and cookies I had for lunch on the day of the last helicopter crash, it survived intact, the pilot and I were a bit bloodied and banged up, the chopper was a write off.

I collect good memories - they don't take up much space.
