There are some good choices here...most all new cars depreciate pretty rapidly, especially expensive ones.

I've driven a lot of nice, new cars and really very few are fun to spend time with. I drove a 997 cab for a day once and it was a blast. That's in my cross hairs, but I want a coupe.

Same here. Come visit the Midwest if you want to go pickup shopping.

Add me to the CTS- V list. I have been in a coupe; very nice.

A Cayman S is my second choice.

Randy: I like your observation on GM values.

The only sore point is GM products holds value about as well as vegetable produce or ice cream- so buy it now, and take a royal ass whuppin, as bad as any AMG and most M vehicles..

Pretty cool to see a fair amount of CTS-V love on this board, a Porsche enthusiast site...who'd a thunk it? I certainly don't disagree that the Gen II CTS-V cars should fall in value with the new model arriving. However, I think you can also add Porsche to the list of vehicles that lose value rapidly after driving a new one off the lot.

Not that I really care about my V-Wagon's value, but since they are dropping the wagon entirely, and it has mad enthusiast appeal, maybe they will hold up relatively well. If and when I am done with mine, it will be well used...hauling around a "mentally challenged" 100lb Rottweiler mix causes some wear and tear

I'm hot for a V myself, or a low low miles E55. Face it, there just isn't a demand for an expensive, complicated high miles car in a rapidly changing niche...

Been watching the V- used generally doesn't move if priced above $40K.. Waiting for that number to get to $30K.

GT3. Heck, I'm even OK with a 996 model.
