"Camshaftless" Engines
I don't think this is a re-post - if so, my apologies.

20% reduction in fuel is pretty significant for just modifying the valvetrain.

That kind of like the technology from F-1 engines.

I think they use pneumatic springs, but still have camshafts.

The way I heard it no camshafts. Near the end of the video he talks about the left side of the head only having a cover area where the camshaft chains used to be.

I think they use pneumatic opening for intake valves but regular camshaft for exhaust valves.

Those are some huge numbers, and looking for production in the next three years. Very nice.

Would you feel as positive if, for argument's sake, it was a US company that the government gave money to a company similar to, I don't know- maybe like Tesla?

Interesting.
. Different topic: Pistons having to constantly change directions seems so outdated to me.

There once was a camshaft that had ports cut into the cam and would function as a valve. I tried to google it but found nada

Didn't one of the M5 motors a few years back have solenoid-actuated valves instead of cams? Or was that just a prototype/concept thing that never made production?

They have no throttle- called valvetronic. Variable valve timing AND lift. They still have cams, though. In fact, they have an extra cam to adjust the fulcrum of the rocker arms in order to change the lift.
