Having lived in 8 countries around this globe, and seen lots more in person, I use FB to stay in touch with family, old friends and so on. Now limit it to a short amount of time as I have too much to do in life...

I've experienced this one too, but you get to learn how shallow or compassionate someone really is this way. And may explain a lot of the missing holes in the story which you have seen over the years.

There is a lot of that on there and even from folks I had never suspected of having such views. But it's just as easy to hide their feeds on FB as it is to put the on ignore on Pelican. I have a clienf friend on there who works for one of George Soros's groups, but she's a buddy and sent me a friend request. Took me reading about two of her posts before I hid her feed for good.

When I post great food I've made, friends ask for the recipe and how to make it.

I like that. They certainly like it. And later send a thank you note sometimes. Because, for the most part, my FB friends are actually friends. And like to experience new things. That are tasty.
