Not Pixar - Disney ToonStudio. But John Lasseter is one of the producers.

THIS ONE might get me back in the theater. Have not attended a "movie" since "Mr. Holland's Opus".

My three year old is an airplane nut, he goes crazy every time a commercial comes on for this movie.

excited to see it. for obvious reasons.

I took the gf to Monsters University yesterday. we usually go to a movie at least once a week. it's the best movie that's come out in months.

we were talking about the new Superman movie and how it compares the MU. The Superman movie was 2.25 hours of him smashing through buildings. Got really old, very quickly. 15 minutes of real plot and character development. The Monsters University movie had superior story (although, kind of like revenge of the nerds) and character development. Plus, it was genuinely funny and entertaining.

Can't wait for Planes to come out.

Hopefully " Planes" will offset the epic losses from "Lone Ranger".

I saw the trailer when we went to see Despicable Me 2 this past weekend.

THAT was an awesome movie, BTW!

I was not enthused about "Planes", though. It looks to be the same story line of "CARS" but with planes.

I hope they aren't working on "TRAINS" as we speak.

I did like the trailer for FROZEN, though. That looks pretty funny.

I think "Planes" is a pretty safe and obvious follow-on to "Cars", and now they can sell more merchandise, but has the potential to be a nice movie anyway. I'll probably see it.

"Monsters U" was excellent, really so.

My son has see "Despicable Me 2" and liked it, not up to the standard set by "Monsters U"
though.

"Superman" was kind of entertaining, the fight scenes were a bore but I like Amy Adams and Diane Lane so . . . But it doesn't bode well for the "Justice League" movie and the buildup movies for it.

We just saw Monsters U with kids on Monday. I liked it but the wife was annoyed the whole time. Apparently in Monsters Inc. Sully and Mike have been friends since 6th grade? I don't remember that part but that sort of continuity stuff annoys the hell out of her.

Cars is one of my favorite kids movies of all time - Cars2 not so much.

Does John L have any active involvement in these movies anymore? I was under the impression this was just a contractual thing but that he was not involved.

Weird, I heard (and found on Google) that this was to go straight to DVD.

Disney Releasing Straight-to-DVD ‘Cars’ Spinoff ‘Planes’

Old article, but I had not heard otherwise... Maybe it's "boats" instead.
