Mattresses & sheets....am I lost?

Thought maybe I'd stumbled into an alternate universe . Don't want to hijack the other two threads, but I just don't "get it". I sleep just fine on a bed of nails/floor/ground/20 stacked mattresses with a pea...covered in a tarp....$hee$h

Nice to see there's another real man still left on here. I think the metrosexual bug got to the other former men here.

Me? I just don't sleep at all.

I just let my wife take care of that stuff. Mattresses & sheets are like wedding plans. They just take care of themselves with no input from me.

Screw that. I pride myself with being able to find high thread-count sheets online because I like enjoying the limited sleep time I actually get.

Not metro, not any less a real man.

I think all of my travel got me used to sleeping on higher-quality linens.

Oh I also clean my own house, cut my own grass and GASP make that very same bed up every morning.

My man card is good for lifetime membership.

(I do draw the line at pork pie hats and skinny jeans though)

You had a bed? We were so poor there were a hundred and sixty of us living in a small shoebox in the middle of the road.

A shoebox? Pure luxury. We were lucky to be in the road. Most of the time we were lying in a ditch full of mosquitoes. Oh, how we dreamed of a shoe box.

Well KC, the guy who sold us the mattress was as queer as a three dollar bill.

Right,

When we got home from working sixteen hours at the factory our dad would slice us in half with butter knife and dance about on our graves singing hallelujah!

I'm not that picky about beds/sheets... particularly sheets do not really matter to me much. (I believe the thread count thing is BS)

However on the other hand we spend one third of our life sleeping/in bed so it just makes sense to have a comfortable bed.

I thought it was all hype until my wife put some expensive, incredibly soft sheets on our bed. Man, do they feel nice!

I guess you missed the "manscaping" thread we had a few years ago.

I'm a pretty liberal guy but that even freaked me out a little bit.

Well we had it tough. We used to have to get up out of the shoebox at twelve o'clock at night, and LICK the road clean with our tongues.

I'm gonna go with Byron on this one. You spend a 3rd of your life in bed, more or less. That's way more than you drive your fancy car of choice. That's way more than you drive your POS DD.

So, if you own a p-car don't be comin' round with this sleeping on a flat rock crap.

I'm perfectly willing to rely on my wife for this important decision, after all; she's the one that does the washing.

You get more nookie with good sheets and a nice bed... It's a proven fact.

That is true, and good or bad, depending on how you look at it, they want to spend more time in your bed..

So I told the missus I wanted to change the colors in the bathroom. I told her that we should paint the walls daffodil yellow and I would go get some nice cornflower blue towels for a pop of contrasting color, but now that I'm at the store, I'm confused about which decorative, scented soaps to get. Should I match the paint, the towels, or the flower patterned curtains that I'm buying?

BTW, when I told her, she said "whatever" and finished her beer while yelling at to ram the other racers out of his way. Then she smashed the empty bottle against her forehead

wait, something about that ending was wrong...

There is a cone of silence here, what happens in the OT stays in the OT. This is Pelican pillow talk.

Dayum....Byron is gonna be pi$$ed! I've been telling all my buddies about this and I've got one willing to trade a NIB Python for a set of $1500 sheets and another was eager to trade his Carrera for a mattress. Sorry Byron...I tried to help a Pelican brother out
