Best 911 v spyder

My friend is pretty keen on the Spyder and is close to getting a used low miles one here in the uk.

They are holding their value very well here and one was just bought locally and resold a week later for 4k profit by a dealer.

The residuals look good but at about 35k gbp here wonder if there is a better cheaper alternative to save him some money.

This is going to be real apples and oranges chat but what are the options I suggested a low miles 996 turbo, he's not really into classics due to lack of work space and suitable storage, its really just a fast road car.........

Is that the Baxter spyder, a limited production model to remember the speedster?
I chatted up a guy with one in Phoenix this summer. He had traded from a 997 into one and was happy with it. Said it was pretty well sealed when he got the back window in, so the AC could do a good job.
Good thing too they were having temps around 113deg at the time.
It did have a cool distinctive look about it.

Are we talking about the Boxster Spyder? If so.. back when they came out Excellence mag did an article where they drove a new Gt3 and a Boxster Spyder out east... very VERY good read.

I'm wanting one in white. They are really holding their value though.

I recall several reviews stating that the Boxster Spyder was the best car that Porsche made, at least at the time.

sorry chaps yes the boxster spyder, so it would seem it is a worthy car of the spend for what is essentially a stripped out boxster.

I don't know the 996s or 997s very well..................

The only bad thing I ever heard about the boxster spyder was that the top is kind of funky to set up and take down. Everything else about the car gets raves in the enthusiast magazines.

Typically compared to assembling a camping tent.

And if the OP is in Scotland that could be an issue. Not sure how waterproof that funky top is.

A Boxster is high on my bucket list.
