My wife and I have both moved around a bunch over the years. We've been pretty stable since getting together, but then when we downsized, we "cleaned house." I actually wish I'd kept some of the stuff, but nothing that's a big deal. Since my parents were in the military, they also traveled fairly light. I won't be going through that experience. I almost wish I would. It's interesting to go through history, especially if it's in some ways your history. |

Just picked up this polaris trailboss 250 for my brother birthday. he was asking 400 got it for 150. First thing we ever bought on marketplace. I dont know how much of a score it was but he is happy as a clam. Already have it all in pieces http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1630709902.jpg

Once the Trail Boss has been restored, consider getting a Stetson 'Boss of the Plains' coboy hat to go with it and complete the effect!

[QUOTE=mthomas58;11445555]Moved 96 yr old father in law into Independent Living Faility two weeks ago who has never thrown anything away. Cleaning out his house to prepare it for sale has been a nightmare - been at it for three weeks with daily trips to the dump. He had a vintage circa 1950'a LAU box fan that works well but was a rusty mess. Did a tear down and repaint. Found a couple on eBay - asking price $250!

Bought a box of drafting tools. There are a pair of Dietzgen Elsastichuks. Almost no information about them online except that guys on eBay want a ridiculous amount of money for them. |

Picked up a wooden shelf unit curbside that was being tossed. It was just what I needed to organize this corner of my garage. Still a bit cluttered but after this winter when I finish my side yard storage area things will be how they should be.

The longboard was $5. at a yard sale the rest was free. I stopped for the wheelbarrows at the curb I had to go back with the truck and the guy was cleaning out gave me the 026 chainsaw and pressure washer they were sitting for 10 years but i cleaned them up a little and got them going they run great. I fixed all the wheel barrow tires and they are now for sale. Also gave me a tractor seat ill use in on something eventually :D

Agree that was a massive score there 930 dude.....SmileWavy
I scored a pretty decent bicycle someone was tossing away today. Also a pile of plywood in various dimensions - mostly rectangles and squares - that had been used as hurricane covers for windows, etc. Mostly less than 1/2" thickness, which is fine with me. I can use these for a lot of different projects. There were also a bunch of 3 1/2" Deckmate screws in them I was able to remove to use again. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1631834232.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1631834232.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1631834232.JPG |
You guys amaze me. I grabbed a piece of 3/4" EMT full 10' out of the alley. New. That's big for me.
Why would anyone toss new conduit? Maybe they didn't know what it is. That stuff, along with everything else, has gone WAY up in cost. |
Technics SL-23 turntable, $20. Not working.
She had sold it to someone earlier, and it arrived with a broken lid and "not working". Dude returned it. So, she put it up as broken. Yes, the lid is cracked, I glued it back together, it's not great but it's a lid again. Otherwise...just missing a belt, must have broken in transit. $5 later, it had a belt, and 20 minutes with some DeOxit and it was working perfectly. It's not a thousand dollar turntable, but it is considered one of the great ones, and they seem to go for $100-200 online. Oh...it also had an Audio Technica AT331lp cartridge with the original Line Contact needle...those seem to go for $150 themselves. |
Makita portable air compressor, $40.
Starts, fills both tanks to 120 psi really quickly, won't restart when it drops to 80 psi, trips the breaker. Check valve has failed, I ordered a replacement from Amazon, it was under $20. Not sure why I needed a fourth compressor though. |
Some cool books from the swap meet. Also got a mg-tc repair manual, a morris minor factory service manual and a few honda manuals. $20. for all http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1632089844.JPG
