The skis? What would you have done with them?

I'm guessing they are snow skis and I assume those are different from water skis. Although I'm sure you could use them as decorations in your tropical oasis and it wouldn't matter. Maybe strap a couple to your mannequin's feet!

Nice score on the desk.

You get a lot of stuff. Do you give away or throw out any of it? I can't imagine that your place is big enough to keep everything that you find and post. I feel like you've posted 20 tables that you could use for planting/potting, 40 outdoor chairs, etc....

After many years of never seeing a Wilton vise at any yard sales or CL, FBMP, etc, I picked up my third in the last six months. Got this one off of FBMP for $85. It came apart surprisingly easily and is ready for cleaning, blasting and painting.

Nice, congrats! Make sure that you come back and post pics when you're done with the restoration.

Garage
I have the same vice. Missing the swivel T-Nuts/lock nuts on mine.
Mine is in an outdoor shed as I reorganize my garage. I noticed the other day there was some surface rust on it from the temperature changes.

I got some Rustoleum Verde Green paint from Mennards. That's supposed to be the closest match to the original Wilton. I'll post some "after" shots hopefully in the next couple of days.

I got this Matco 15 inch ratchet at a yard sale for five dollars. The toggle was sticking. So I called Matco and they’re like, “lifetime warranty!” They are sending me a repair kit for it. Matco is my new favorite tool company.

This particular ratchet is selling for $100 on eBay.

I didn't need it, but wanted 9ne when they 1st came out, even before they were banned.
Well, I figured I'd offer $100, not expecting the seller to accept, well, he did, plus less than 5 miles from me.

Great score, Byron! Very interesting design. Does the cantilevered seat mount give some springing for the rider? Why was the bike banned?

Best

Yes, suspension and aerodynamic.

Here is a write up.
https://www.tripsforkidsmarin.org/blog/banned

Quote:

To wit: In 1999 Softride Bikes were banned by Union Cicliste Internationale (UCI). The UCI is the world governing body for sports cycling and oversees international competitive cycling events. The UCI is based in Aigle, Switzerland. Switzerland: bastion of neutrality, home to fondue and banks that say “you do you, just let us hold the money in secret accounts for you”, or so I imagine that’s what they say. The UCI implemented a Double Diamond Frame standard for all bikes competing in international events. Softride bikes do not have a traditional seat tube nor seatstays, therefore did not conform to the Double Diamond Frame standard implemented by the UCI. I’ll come back to this a little later on. First a quick history of Softride

I was hoping to find a Wilton vise; didn't get that lucky, but this horseshoe set was laying in a free pile. I was on my commuter bike so I was able to pick them up and bring 'em home.

I've kind of always wanted a set because there's a regulation size pit at the little park across the street and it would be fun to throw 'shoes with friends!
Or even alone!

Just picked up these two cabinets at a garage sale. Really nice, much better than the IKEA junk. $35 each.

Freebie - but this time was given to me by a good friend who was freeing up space at his factory. He has surfboards that end up left behind all the time so periodically has to do a cleansing.

This one a sample by a local artist showing off his airbrush skills.......

Before and after washing off all the dust......the fourth photo shows the other one he gave me.......

Are they good boards for getting out and getting salty? Nice score, by the way.

Whoa! That first board looks cool!

I could see that hanging in a bar like the one on Magnum PI, you know, Rick's place.
