Needed more bikes for camping trip at 2022 MXON for buddies flying up for race weekend. Was looking for cheap bikes on Facebook Marketplace and was only finding junk trashed Walmart bikes in under $50 price range. Happened upon a local garage sale and found two 1996 Giant Boulder 550's owned by adult couple. They were dusty but looked in excellent mechanical condition. Got em for $20 each! Started cleaning them up and pumped up the tires last night. Both work perfect and need nothing other than a thorough detailing. They shift through all gears perfectly, wheels are true. This was a heck of a deal. With 5 grandkids, one can never have enough bikes laying around in the shop.

Picked up a Callaway golf travel bag for $50 on Wednesday. Perfect shape and well padded soft case. Retailed for $250 CAD.

My old golf shoes finally delaminated and found out that the golf suppliers in Canada do not believe that Canadians have wide feet....

After trying and returning a pair purchased online, I found a pair of Nike Air golf shoes for $40 on FBMP that were worn once for a golf tourney. Not really my style but they fit me well...

Wow, that seems like a serious score of some great bikes.

It's crazy that they were initially black, but green and purple after the wash!

This happens all the damn time. Mert and Mable decide to get in shape by riding bikes, make the big leap, bring 'em home, ride them a half-dozen times and stash them in the garage where they won't see the light of day for 15 years and someone picks up the pair for junk prices.

The same thing is going to happen with E-bikes. It'll be interesting to see how obsolete the battery tech is in a decade when someone wants to reenergize a 'brand new' 10 year old Ebike that they bought on FacePlant marketplace for a song and a dance,

Good score, Hancock. At least those bikes will be put to use as bikes and not dustcatchers.

Went over to Mom's to fix her TV streaming device this morning. And plant new flowers (15) 6" Blue Daze in the front.

Her neighborhood always has potential.

Small fold-able table will come in handy while doing jobs and projects here. I like the surface - some kind of plexi material(?) with retro design....right up my ally! 😛

On my way home from my bike ride - not 3 blocks away! 'Made in Denmark' stamped on the back.

You know what I really appreciate?

That whomever set these out by the curb were very careful not to damage them. Respect for things is one of those things that was drilled into my head by my Dad - as I'm sure was the case for many others here.

Neighbor gave me his old tiller. The drive pulley wallowed out on the hub. I thought i might just use it for gokart parts but Its not too bad I think it will be worth fixing it up.

Disclaimer. I'm the old, weird guy in the neighborhood!

So, this caught my eye in ye-olde free-pile;
I fished it out, dragged it home, threaded a 1/4-20 screweye to a couple of old skateboard bearings through the center of the wheel and hung the thing from the ceiling with hardware store clevises...(Yah, I did find the joist. Thanks for asking.) A few daily sessions of just hanging for a minute or two to stretch the back, shoulders and neck works wonders! The bearings allow me to rotate the wheel so I can use different hand positions to stretch different muscles. I plan to move it so I'm not bumping up against the car, but basic proof of concept is sound.

Ahhhh! Next best thing to a medieval rack in the basement.

I scored a Blackstone grill and table plus full tank of propane for $75 today. The tank of propane itself is worth about $50 in SF Bay Area.

Nice! Are those Gov't surplus? Or just some very big glass for the civilian market?

civilian, mostly for astronomy. There's a group of folks that use and/or prefer binoculars for stargazing.

don't really want to post a pic, but I was looking for a light duty safe to store documents and a few quasi-valuables (nothing to opulent)

Anyways scored a great condition recently made American Security 700lb safe for $800 on FB market place. 3500$ safe online and crazy overkill for my application, but why not at nearly the same cost as a new chinesum lightweight safe from a big box store.

Moving it almost killed me and my wife though.
