Very cool! Thanks for sharing the old photo!

I was able to get one of the newer radios working and now my son is trying to figure out what to do with his new found 4 channel capabilities.

Wanted one for a while. The leaf vac thread sent me looking again. Most are $500 and up. This was $300 because it was in storage and the current owners didn't know if it ran-they listed for 5 and I offered 3. Pulled carb and it was gummed up-float stuck etc. Cleaned it and it runs great, but only on choke. Replacement carbs are cheap and plentiful on Amazon, 20 bucks or so.

Nice score , if you keep it in decent shape you will never lose money on it . I have found with mine that sticks can get lodged in the hose from the deck to the mulcher . When that happens the hose will quickly clog .

Also pick up the leaves when they are dry as they mulch much easier and finer . Finally start mulching as the leaves are falling vs when they have all fallen . When you have 6-12 inches of leaves it forms a tidal wave coming over the front of the deck . Regardless of how you set the deck height . Other than those few things it's a great tool .

^^^That is a great price for that one.
If you need parts, like the mower deck adapter, this place has about all...https://trac-vac.com/trac-vac-parts/
Amazon has a lot also.

Thanks for the tips. It did come with the deck adapter that I can make fit, those are 300 bucks if you have to buy one. DR etc have universal ones that are cheaper.
Its mostly going to see service without the mower attached. Most of my leaves end up against a fence at the bottom of the property, split rail with wire for dogs on the outside. They are ok there, but unsightly until they decompose and are also cause of rot. I can just vacuum the leaves with the hose end...

Yesterday afternoon my buddy Jason calls and says there is a garden tractor near his house in someones yard for free. He cant stop due to being on his way to work. I go pick up my neighbor Bob and head out. We get there and we are struggling to get it in the back of my S10 and a lady came and helped us Thank you.:D.No way we can get it by ourselves. It wont fit between the wheel tubs so I strap it in, back wheels hanging off the tailgate and off we go. Unload it put in a battery, some gas and it runs. Runs good. 22 h.p. 2 cylinder Briggs. Has a flat tire and its off the bead. Today another buddy helps get the tire to take air . I put the belt on and mow the back yard. I think a bit of lube and it should bring $350 ??

You're mowing already? The grass is white here.

I already did some trimming but this is the first time for the back yard. Really need it. Was going to wait a few more days but I needed to test the new mower out. Just looked at FB marketplace and guys are asking $450 to $750 for similar mowers. Hydrastatic drive mowers seem to be in demand.

So we're changing some furniture around in the house and decided to get rid of these two tall shelving units we've had for about 25 years and have moved to three different cities. I wanted to give them to Goodwill or put them out on the street and be done with them. Wife says she'll try to sell them online. I said OK, whatever. Within a day she has them sold for $150. I'll never hear the end of this one.....:(

So, in my continuing run of luck with this thing, the deck adapter is not only usable, it is the correct freaking adapter for a jd zero turn. Yeehaw.

stevej37 04-03-2022 05:02 AM

^^^ That's great because the last adapter I bought, when I traded tractors, was $265 (I believe)

I think the longest that we go without needing to mow here is 2-3 months. Dec-Jan or Jan-Feb or maybe Dec-Feb depending upon the weather. I had an amaryllis send up a stalk for a bloom in Jan due to a few warm days. Then it paused a bit through Feb, and finally bloomed in Mar. The rest of them are sending up new blooms now.

I will be expecting to hear on the news about an Upstate NY chain saw massacre.

Scott Douglas 04-18-2022 02:13 PM

I'll totally derail this thread about saws and post a pic of our amaryllis. How's that?SmileWavyhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1650319982.JPG
