FedEx Rant

Packages on truck for delivery from local terminal now 3 days, they go out, then return, no explanation, and of course their phone system is too overburdened to even accept an inbound call.

As bad as UPS sucks, I've had daily on time deliveries. I'll avoid FedEx henceforth.

I noticed that UPS and Fed EX just stay on you door step for 10 seconds and they are gone. Packages go back to the terminal if they need a signature and you don't answer your door.

At Christmas time UPS uses a guy in a golf cart in my 'hood. Looks kinda funny.

Mine, too! He pulled up today with three nice size boxes and one looked like a pelican box! I got all excited, but they were all for my daughter. Damn college kids with jobs ordering all this crap...

My "favorite" UPS trick they have been doing to me lately (over the past 6 months) is they list on the tracking "Out for early delivery" one day early, but it never shows up. Then the "reschedule" the delivery for the actual day it was supposed to be delivered on. Why get a guy's hopes up??

Here in Portland, it's bike pulling a cart. (There was a biblical downpour about an hour before I took this shot. Didn't affect this guy, he's still smiling!)

When you get into the FedEx 800 system say Representative to get a live person. You can ask that it be changed to Hold At Location. is it a ground or Express package?

Ground. Thanks for the info, tried that yesterday but call volumes were too high, or so the message said.

I am lucky enough to just have everything shipped to my office. The driver has to come inside and seek a signature. I have a set of rear tires for my 911 in the back right now. I have had my El Camino 350 V8 crate engine delivered here. Yesterday the UPS driver came in with 4 big boxes. All my Pelican orders come here.

You should try shipping via Fedex.Everything is fine if your computer is working OK, but if not, they will refuse to collect(they have no system for dealing with customers whose computer is temporarily out of action, in the UK anyway) .

In Portland I would have figured he would be on a fixie with chin beard and about a dozen facial piercings.

I wouldn't ditch FedEx based on this one scenario. The last I heard, UPS and USPS are the ones that are notorious for delivering packages that looks like they're been stomped on... or losing them altogether. A friend tells an unbelievable story of some very time sensitive legal papers re: her dad's estate that UPS disappeared from the planet.

UPS doesn't do too many idiotic things....just sayin'. It likely makes sense economically.

I suppose it is safer than my local UPS driver who accidentally drove through my neighbor's front yard, through a pine tree, and into the back yard.

It's for the Christmas rush. The regular driver in the big brown truck is delivering a couple of blocks over.

The trailer rig fits in the truck. That kid looks like he's 16 - I doubt if he's making very much dough.

This hardly looks idiotic at all. It seems like it's pretty well thought out.

Cool, but to me it seems like a marketing ploy more than anything. Very Portland, though!!

In my neighborhood (probably everywhere?) they are required to turn off the truck when it is unoccupied. So, for the Holidays they just toss an extra guy in every truck who can run to the door with the package, and the driver can stay in the running truck and cue up the next package.

always makes me wonder who the vendor is who supplies starters to UPS!
