I got the flu shot and did not get the flu because of it or after it. I am a believer. My wife and daughter don't get it. They are over 21 so I cannot force them....:)

The flu is no fun. A lot of people will tell you they have the flu when, what they really have, is a bad cold. A real case of the flu is a different ballgame altogether.

The shot is covered at 100% under our insurance via the CVS that's .25 mile from my house. Easy decision.

Next- any doc on here will tell you can not immune a virus. If they could the cold would be gone , Aids gone and a host of other diseases !

No way...never will. If my job requires me to have flu shots then I'd quit. If the police state makes it a law then I'd move. No...I'm not afraid of needles!

I believe that flu vaccines contain toxic or hazardous ingredients that does more harm in the long term than good. Plus there are hundreds if not thousands of different stains of flu virus so it's a crap shoot to target the strain of virus.

I find it amazing how most folks buy into this stuff. No thanks.

Shorter Dick....Not true, We have a daughter with C.F. and we are told to by her Dr. 19 years of flu shots and 100% happy with our choice.

No on is any smarter for it..but we walk around all cocky about a flu shot that is little more then a
placebo , a feel good action.

Anyone who is vaguely at risk (older, immunocompromised) and doesn't get the shot is tempting fate. The whole conspiracy theory is rather mis-placed as there are far worse things about the govt to worry about. Virulent flu strains kill, and if they don't, you may wish they did while you're sick. The shot isn't perfect but it increases your odds of either missing it or having a mild case.

Seat belts, air bags, and crumple zones are conspiracies as well. Silly to use those precautions...

Do you believe in science? Virology isn't voodoo. Can we defeat every virus? No. Can we prep a human immune system to better fight certain strains? Yes.

If you want to get worried and incensed, ponder the amount of antibiotics that are put in animal feed every year. And arguably the amount of topical antibacterial so that are currently in use. The flu shot has significant upside for many and very little downside (with rare exceptions). That is in marked contrast to antibiotic misuse by humans.

Yes, free through my employer and I have never had an adverse reaction so.... why not?

I have it every year and force the family too. I had the flu so bad about 10 years ago for 2 weeks straight that I thought I'm going to die. Most miserable I have ever felt in my life. I can only imagine catching that when you aren't young and strong ...

I call BS on the adverse reactions and getting the flu from the shot. Even if there are cases, chances of dying from the flu (even as a healthy adult) are orders of magnitude higher than a reaction leaving you sick.

Frankly, I get upset when people bash medicine, science and engineering and want to go back to nature after we worked so hard to get where we are today. Life expectancies of 75+ years in most first world countries. It must have to do with all the evil that science and engineering has brought to us ... I invite all the nay sayers to move to the third world and quit theorizing from behind their keyboards, relying on everyone else around them keeping up to date on their vaccinations. ;)
