Just saw this. It is a story. I thought interesting. Not an action film. Just a story.

I saw it, too. An interesting character- very closed. Tortured by his deeds to the point of not being able to help himself or even wanting to. He finds someone else to help and puts everything into that. As you say, an interesting story. I thought Oscar Isaac did an amazing job.

Yes, Isaac is great in this movie. I was not sure how to describe the card counter, it is not your typical movie.

The Wild One comes on at 4:30 on TMC.

They repair to nearby Wrightsville and continue their reign of terror. The local sheriff (Robert Keith) is helpless to stop them, but when a rival gang arrives, he manages to arrest their leader, Chino (Lee Marvin). Meanwhile, Johnny finds himself attracted to the sheriff's daughter, Kathie (Mary Murphy), and decides to stick around.

I'd like to see that. A friend of mine's dad used to call him Marlon Branding Iron.

Cry Macho was not as good as Clint's other recent work, especially Gran Torino. I enjoyed it and will watch anything Clint does. I'm amazed he directed and starred in a movie at 90 years old. I watch anything he does from here on out.

Cry Macho is one of the worst movies I've ever seen - part of. Bad characters, bad acting, contrived and ridiculous story. I can't believe Eastwood was part of it. I watched about half and it was just awful.

I just watched it on Amazon. I thought it was pretty stupid, actually. Maybe by today's standards it just looks bad. I did get a kick of of seeing Alvy Moore (Hank Kimball from Green Acres) and Jerry Paris (the dentist next door on The Dick Van Dyke Show) in there, though. Lee Marvin was fun, but I can't say his acting was any good.

I think I'll try On the Waterfront soon to get the bad taste out my mouth.

Intrusion....A 'better than average' Netflix suspense movie.

If you like vintage comedy (It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, The Producers, etc.) I can heartily recommend Something Funny Happened On The Way To The Forum from 1966. It features late-but-great comedy gold: Zero Mostel, Phil Silvers, Jack Gilford, slient-film icon Buster Keaton (his final film) and many well-known Brits in other roles. Songs by Stephen Sondheim. I really admire the sharp script and excellent comedic timing of the performers. It was originally a play that did over 900+ performances, and then worked into a feature film.

Anything Anthony Zerbe is in is good!

"The Howling" is on now....another cult classic! :D

Baz 10-01-2021 03:31 PM

Forgot how cool the special effects are in "The Howling". A bit of a campy theme but makes up for it in cult status!

JackDidley 10-03-2021 07:20 PM

Pig. Just watched this because the NASCAR race rained out. Slow moving with mostly unlikeable characters.

stevej37 10-04-2021 02:17 PM

Waste of time...same as his last three movies...but worse.
Unless you like roosters.
