Watched "Joker" last night - man what a weird movie.......

Baz 10-04-2021 02:41 PM

One of the greatest movies ever made.....and certainly Hoffman's best.........

I love that movie- Hoffman's second. There's a lot of movies I like as well- Rain Man, Papillon, Kramer vs Kramer, Midnight Cowboy, Marathon Man, Little Big Man. Lots of others that I'm not as familiar with.

Good list - "Outbreak" was good, as well.

Right now watching this one from 1993.........

I bought a Fandango ticket for Friday when No Time to Die opens. If I wait until Friday, I'll be in the front row, if at all. The ticket was a few bucks more than normal. I've been waiting for this movie for a long time!

I thought Oblivion was a very good sci-fi movie. Some interesting ideas.

Did you like it?

Baz 10-05-2021 04:52 PM

"Oblivion" was great! I liked it so much I bought the DVD. Cruise is one of my fav. actors.

Hey Steve...speaking of Hoffman movies and in particular "Papillon"....one of my fav. quotes:

Dega: "Blame is for God and small children."

Steve Carlton 10-05-2021 05:01 PM

Not familiar with that quote. I thought W.C. Fields had one quote, but there were several.

Started it up and right away knew I had seen it before. Not sure when. Watched it anyway and it is still a damn good movie. Cruise made some great scifi movies. Minority report was good and so is edge of tomorrow.

When you guys post a trailer from YouTube, where can you see the actual movie?

Steve Carlton 10-06-2021 05:40 AM

Trailers live on well after a movie has left the theater. If you google it, you'll usually see where it's streaming. Or you can check Amazon, Netflix, HBO+, or whatever you subscribe to.

I have a firestick. Almost any movie or TV show can be streamed from it.

Steve Carlton 10-06-2021 05:58 AM

Firestick?

Scratch this. I left after about 30-40 minutes. Pointless cringe worthy murder. Horrible.

"Sometimes they come back" with Tim Matheson based on the Stephen King novel.

Mildly entertaining but equally weird. Tim Matheson was a cast member of "The Virginian", in case it's of any interest.
