Just for the heck of it, I did a Google search for the Norfolk Drive-In and found this aerial photo:

The sub-division you see directly across from the drive-in is where I lived from '55-'69. Fairlawn Estates. Janaf Shopping Center is barely visible to the upper left and across the street is the Little Giant Store and Kings, if memory serves me correctly. Places we rode our bikes to week in and week out after school and on weekends.

Followed by the original "The War of the Worlds" and "Forbidden Planet".

Already on top of it, Byron.

That is wonderful film.

Wow! I saw all three when they came out. The Day the World Stood Still was the most impactful, and Forbidden Planet was my favorite of the three.

I just saw this with my kids... Excellent movie with lots of laughs.

Everly. Sort of a Kill Bill type movie. Lots of blood and guts. Selma Hayek looking good even after being raped, shot, tased, beaten, tear gassed and stabbed.

If you like science fiction this has some value.

I wasn't expecting much but this surprised me.

Same here. Ended up liking it a lot.

It was pretty good, but the ending was a bit hokey.

astrochex 07-11-2019 12:25 PM

On Netflix, Devil at the Crossroads, a Robert Johnson story.

Not bad, learned a lot. Talk about mystery and tragedy.

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.

A series of old western vignettes from the Coen brothers. Each one is intriguing in its own way.

ON TCM...."Harper" was on earlier and "Ghandi" is on now.

As always on TCM....commercial free.....

I can't believe Payback isn't in here. One of my favorites. 1999 - Mel Gibson+

I remember 52 Pick-Up being good and would like to see it again. 1986 - Roy Scheider+

Also A.I. Artificial Intelligence. 2001 - Haley Joel Osment

sc_rufctr 07-14-2019 09:59 PM

Payback is a classic. Probably one of Mel's best movies... Lucy Liu ;)

Hubba Hubba Hubba

That movie hasn't been on in years.

I just saw Jackie Brown and L.A. Confidential
