Phil Tippett is the Oscar-winning stop-motion animator and designer behind some of the greatest fantasy creatures and sci-fi set pieces in cinema history. From his humble beginnings as an alien patron in the iconic Cantina sequence from 'Star Wars: A New Hope', to pioneering stop-motion techniques used throughout 'Empire Strikes Back' and 'Return of the Jedi', to seamlessly merging practical animation and CGI in Jurassic Park and beyond. In 'My Life in Monsters', VICE chronicles Tippett's legendary life work, illustrating the process behind his greatest creations, the emotional hardships of transitioning into Hollywood's digital revolution, and completing his return-to-form, stop-motion opus with the brutal, dystopian 'Mad God'.

The Gray Man started on Netflix a couple of days ago. Great action (maybe too much), nice smart remarks. Not perfect, but I'd give it 4 stars. I'm a Ryan Gosling fan. Ana de Armas gets to make up for her lack of use in No Time to Die.

Anything with Ed Lauter, M. Emmit Walsh, Harry Dean Stanton or Jack Warden was definitely worth the price of admission.
From 1986....."Youngblood" with Patrick Swayze and Rob Lowe......

Although I enjoyed this movie, everything about it was ridiculous. It was like half way through the movie they said logic be damned.

I enjoyed The Gray Man. But, yeah, reality is not one of the strengths of the movie.

I'm not sure what to think about this movie. I hope it's good but I fear not however it could have been.

Two fails recently.
Cape Fear (surprised i never saw this before). I sincerely thought it was made as a joke. How anyone associated with that movie got work after the fact is beyond me. Stillwater. Matt Damon over doing the country boy act in a horribly slow, apparently very low budget marathon of depressing scenes. Just awful.

I took the boy and dad to see TG: Maverick. It was formulaic, but good. No surprises but the script was well done. I was hesitant since the last movie we went to in a different theater was way too loud. Turns out a sound engineer went to a movie there and tested it and is was just over 108db for a lot of the movie. No wonder my ears were ringing.
The TG theater was far more reasonable.

We saw "Where the Crawdads Sing" today in theater. It was my wife's choice, but we both enjoyed it. Not an action movie but a story movie. I'd recommend it.

Amazon Prime is remaking Road House with Jake Gyllenhaal as a former UFC fighter. Conor McGregor has joined the cast, probably as his nemesis. I'm good with this.
