Netflix..... Friday the 13th

Watched for the first time on Friday the 13th. Wow! This is right there in quality with the original Halloween. I can't believe I've never seen it before.

Just finished Paris, Texas.

This will stick with me for a long time. Might be a top ten. I am impressed.

Hillary still has it.
Wasn't aware of this until you mentioned it, so I watched it last night. I'm a big fan of Hillary, and she was excellent. Michael Ealy will be the choice when they do a Steph Curry movie.

Loved the movie. Some pain involved for the viewer, though.

Just saw the Equalizer 3 movie. Typical Denzel badassery. Lots of dialogue in Italian. That is the only bad part, I do not understand Italian.

I liked The Equalizer 3 the best of the three. Interesting and (mostly) likeable townspeople. An interesting CIA woman.

They could make a franchise out of prequels if they found the right actor. Maybe Michael Jordan, or someone like him.

I am not sure about ranking the 1,2 and 3. I liked them all. Denzel is now 68 years old . He cant do this forever. Maybe a younger McCall would work. Maybe Matt Damon ?? I know, not that young .

Denzel has said the third one was his last. I rank them as 3, 1, 2 in order of preference, but that's just me. I liked them all a lot. I really liked Man on Fire, which is very similar in nature. One of my favorite Denzel Washington movies, and I like a lot of them. I used to watch the original TV series with Edward Woodward. I thought it was good at the time, but I like Denzel better, plus the action is more serious.

There's even an Equalizer TV series with Queen Latifah. It seems ridiculous, but I actually enjoyed watching it. She did a decent job.

Some prequels to the Denzel movies could be awesome, when he was at the peak of his killing skills. Along the lines of Mission: Impossible and James Bond. A CIA assassin series.

I remember liking the original series when I was a kid. I only saw one episode of the new series so I have not decided one way or another. Man on fire was was pretty good. Only Denzel movie I did not like was one where he was a lawyer. I did not hate it but just not what I expected.

I started a subscription to The Criterion Channel based on my assumption it would be a discriminating channel from what I've seen of them historically and wanting to watch On the Waterfront.

I got an email from them with some interesting suggestions for the weekend- like Unfriended, Dark City, Trouble Every Day, Phantom of the Paradise and Freaks. I looked and most of these are not commonly available on the typical sources, so I think I'll enjoy it. I've seen Freaks before, and that was a landmark film from Tod Browning in 1932.

Criterion has a lot of Film Noir. I've been thinking of ditching some of my other channels and signing up for it.

Just watched a old flick I really enjoyed. "Sgt. Ryker", with Lee Marvin. A Korean era drama. Great plot that keeps you guessing. NOT your typical war flick. Free on Youtube:
