Best way I can describe it is an off-the-rails musical, (think Rocky Horror Picture Show) with some equally fun tunes, albeit they are heavily peppered with George Carlin's Seven Words You Can Never Say On Television. I found it quite entertaining, especially the great Nathan Lane (Birdcage, The Producers ) and an awesome number by singer Megan Three Stallion.

This is an interesting one. Directed by David Fincher, an interesting assassin movie. The assassin is cold, meticulous, ruthless, smart, and devoid of personality. Make that a "very" on all counts. An annoying (for me) narration, some amazing action, and multiple bits of The Smiths best dark songs, make it overall imperfect but terrific.

I agree with all you wrote....except I liked the narration. It showed his drive and dedication to make the job perfect. I might watch it again, the last part I missed a couple minutes.
Fassbender was perfect for the part.

I think Fassbender was perfect as well. One of the best actors in the world, IMO. Shades of his artificial character David in Promethus and Alien: Covenent. I see the purpose of his narration in the early part of the movie, but it became so repetitive and increasingly in conflict with the storyline. It more described his previous discipline. According to this article, it was a deliberate device David Fincher has used before:

yeah that was and odd movie but surprisingly good. I am not sure why he disposed of the taxi driver (only weird thing). On a funnier note, you may love it or hate it but a french "assassin/thieves" movie also on netflix called "Wingwomen" - cracked me up because of all the weird little moments in it. Definitely not serious but original and different enough...
