Nice clip Baz! I knew "Basic Instinct" would be one of them!

Kelly's Heros is a great film. I could watch it again and again.

Saw "Gone Girl' tonight - what a movie...wow!

Tyler Perry was awesome as the lawyer Tanner Bolt.

Also Rosamund Pike is still a hottie even though she's dangerous and crazy...lol....

Watched a movie I hadn't seen in years - "The Salzburg Connection" with Barry Newman. A slow moving suspense film involving a box full of names of Nazi collaborators. Best parts of the movie were seeing all the nice European cars from the late '60s and early '70s. Newman rents a car and asks for something "small and fast" and gets an Inka Orange BMW 2002. Also a long hood Targa featured near the end of the film.

Fox movie channel will be playing it again on Sunday and Monday.

A couple good 70's retro films:
(but with smot poking and not enough vehicles)

"Django Unchained" is on TNT tonight in about 15 minutes....

Baz 01-30-2017 07:49 AM

Love "Django Unchained" although the scene near the end when Dr. Schultz shot Monsieur Candie, afterwards he should have at least attempted to escape being shot by the bodyguard, instead of just standing there saying "I couldn't help myself." - that part bothered me a bit, but I guess that's artistic license, as they say.

Will watch it when it comes on again to absorb more of the finer details.

I can certainly see why Chrsitoph Waltz received an Oscar for best supporting actor...he was awesome!

This evening ladies and gentlemen....tonight on TCM (as part of their 31 days of Oscar) at 8pm eastern - "Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds", followed by "Blazing Saddles" and "Blow up".

Baz 02-03-2017 04:05 PM

Also - nice little segment they just had on legendary director Edward Dmytryk.

For those interested here's the Wiki page for Mr. Dmytryk.

Yeah Brian....today is only Day 3 of the 31 days......a LOT of great ones coming up!

I hadn't watched "The Birds" in many years and forgot how masterful and innovative Hitchcock's directing was. It really is a groundbreaking film on several levels. :p

Speaking of birds, a pigeon flew into the windshield of my rental car today. Luckily it kept going, I guess it was to fat and didn't get enough lift.:D

Watching "John Wick" right now on USA Network.

john70t 02-13-2017 03:55 PM

"Tangerine".
LA black trap street prostitutes go on a hissy debacle across town.
An excellent movie about human energy and relationships.
(Yeah. I know what you were starting to think. so don't say it. Good entertinment movie.)

"The Big Short".
2008 RE stock market crash, and some minor players who recognized it first and capitalized on it.
The free market....barely at work....
(That's all I can say without racial expletives and turning this into parf and being banned from pelican.)
