(Btw, thanks for mentioning "Silent Running". I haven't thought of Huey, Dewey and the tragic Louie in years.)

I think that poster and variations of it was used more outside of the US, particularly in Oz.

Here's the more familiar one:

It is interesting how the names are listed. In among the other names we know well are James Donald, who was a very distinguished actor better known in the UK than in the US, and John Leyton who was an early-60's UK chart-topping pop singer.

There are many stars not listed, notably David McCallum (Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard, Illya Kuryakin) and Gordon Jackson (Mr. Angus Hudson & many other roles).

DW: You make some good observations about the 2 posters. That was just an amazing movie - I really enjoyed seeing the Aussie James Coburn riding his bike and the cafe scene where they ducked down as the machine guns rifled the German soldiers was classic.

Here's another cult classic - IMHO the Hanson Brothers were the best part!

Not to mention the striptease!!

I see you are in New Smyrna Beach - Hey, the weather in FL these days got you thinking hockey?

(I have relatives who were just visiting Sebastian, and others who reside in Spring Hill, and they were all telling me how cold it is. But at my house this morning it was 6F - good outdoor hockey weather!)

Tough living in Florida sometimes, I tell ya. Got up into the upper 70's today.....yikes....too warm!

Continuing with Vinny's theme of yon days when ships were made of wood....and men of iron!

Re: The Great Escape. I knew Bud Ekin the guy who did the barbed wire jumping thing. I asked him if he could have made the jump. He looked at me with disgust and said he'd jumped it during rehearsals every single time, but they wanted to have him fail at the last minute.

Hugh: Thanks for sharing that really great story. Nice having your perspectives and notes from your years in the industry.

I hope you will stop back frequently and post more commentary plus any photos you feel comfortable sharing.

Same to you Craig (and whoever else has appropriate contributions!)
