Good looking ride, Sid. You are gonna have lots of fun driving and tinkering on it... congrats on snagging it.

And remember... even after it gets hot, you can bring her out at night to terrorize the locals.

For some reason, I'm craving a mint Tic Tac right now.

Yup, there are only a few months a year where it doesn't even cool off at night here, but I'll survive those!

And ya, the green is different, and I wasn't sure until I saw it in person, but I really like it.

Hey, '69... the year we first landed on the moon... so I think that means you've got to get a bud to moon somebody out the back window sometime.

That's like a cooler, updated version of a pale green that was a fairly common factory color on VWs in the '60's.

Awesome Sid! I have very fond high school memories of cruising around in a buddy's Beetle. Hard to beat the fun to cost ratio there.

I like the old centerline look wheels.
They are totally like late 70s early 80s retro...
I had a 68 that was pretty sloppy in the steering department.
Pulled the steering box and the 4 bolts that hold the cover on were loose!
Nice looking ride.
The aircooled cars seem to smell the same. Oil and fuel. Intoxicating!

69 that should have a 1500 single port engine and the first year for IRS CVs.
Looks like it is in good shape. Have fun with it. They can be a lot of fun stock to.

The porsche fan on a type 1 engine is more bling than performance.
My bug used to have the 120hp Gene Berg engine that's now in the '67 bus, this new engine should be around 180hp in street configuration.
I've had a '67 bug or bus since high school, I seem to attract that year for some reason.

Just out of curiousity, what does something like that cost?

10 grand? 20 grand?

Mid-way between the two figures, if you can settle for a turnkey 155 HP. It gets closer to the second figure the closer to 200 HP you want to get, and you almost just add them both together for a 2.9 liter 250 HP Type 1.

Pricing

That is so very nice to see. Seems we have all had one or two.

Enjoy. I'll be in Phoenix in May. I want a ride.
