How do I stop neighborhood cats from using my front yard as a litter box?

My yard smells like cat piss and poop. How can I stop the little bastards from doing their thing on my yard? Please don't suggest using firearms. I couldn't bring myself to shoot anything. Not because I'm against violence. I can't shoot worth a snot.

Did you see the thread on air guns? Silent and cheap, you'd get lots of chances.

Mythbuster just tried several of the old tricks to keep a cat out. Not much works.

I had the same problem. I started trapping the cats. Take them to the pound. Problem soved.

I have the same issue. The neighbor and I have been using cayenne pepper and worked pretty well until the rain, but eventually they smart up and go else where on the property. you and I both need to learn how to shoot the neighbor's pets. I want to shoot the one of the neighbor's dog that pisses on my door step a few times a week. Now I just have to find out which one.

This. What you do with them after trapped is up to you.

I've had great success with a motion activated sprinkler, bought from Home Depot. Alternatively, a good sling shot using jujubes (aka DIY rubber bullets) works well, too.

mothballs can discourage critters, but then it smells like mothballs at your house

get an electric fence charger and make a loop of wire for the dog to piss on! Will not hurt him, but you will never have him do it again I bet. kind of like touching a spark plug wire, only with your dick!

I don't understand how she will help unless she has some sort of weapon hidden.

Still prefer the pellet gun, though.
