Had no idea Porsche Design storefronts existed
I was in San Francisco last week and happened across the Porsche Design store. I had no idea that there were pd stores. Apparently, we even have one here in Houston in the Galleria. The missus insisted upon buying me something, so I got some sunglasses. The most obscenely priced sunglasses I've ever owned, and also the least expensive that they had in the store, but I like them. They have a metal frame, but they are featherlight. I hate sunglasses that feel like 5# on the bridge of my nose. When you buy from a pd store, they make it seem very special. The receipt is in a card and not just in the bag. You get a couple of chocolates with the pd logo, etc....
The chocolates were very good and these are the most comfortable glasses I've ever had. ![]() ![]()

I don't get out much.
I avoid the Galleria in Houston like the plague. I think I'd rather go to Walmart (which is saying something).

There was a 930 Turbo parked in front of the one in SoHo when I was there in March. So fitting.
They treated me well in there too, cup of espresso and comfy lounge chairs. ![]()

G'day!
|
Had a girlfriend from Miami who's sister did a lot of sales stuff - overseas and domestic - some designer items along with misc.
She called me up and told me she could get her hands on boxes and boxes of original PD aviators. This was back in the early 2000's. So I bought all I could and resold almost all of them on eBay. These were NOS....the original and complete with original box, case, authenticity card, pamphlet, extra lenses....just like the photo below. You can still find these on eBay but rarely will you find any that were never used. ![]()

The stores have been around for quite a few years. We carried PD merch at Beverly Hills Motoring Accessories and I bought our inventory directly from the BH PD store in 1984.

Yeah, I don't think it's so easy to drive up and park your 911 in front of that store.
