I recently bought a Buell XB12XT Ulysses. I never envisioned owning a Buell, but I have to admit there is a good bit of unique engineering on these bikes. The bike certainly has character, and the HP and torque is a lot of fun.

I hope Erik Buell Racing does well.

I don't ride, but I have a great appreciation for two wheels. I plan to watch the coverage this weekend.

Coverage starting NOW (10:00 PM EST) on Velocity. I think only an hour tonight, and maybe some coverage on Sunday.

Thnx

So much going on this weekend.

From Brandons FB page.

Retired from the Superbike race on lap 2 at Ballaugh Bridge. Clutch went out and not well enough to continue on to the end of the lap so called it a day. Team is working hard to get the bike fixed for Monday's Superstock race.
Massive thanks to The Raven assistant manager for getting me a free cheeseburger while I waited for the crossroads to open so I could nurse the bike back to the paddock on the coast road. Also thanks to the marshal who gave me a few quid to fill the bike up in Ramsey so I could make it all the way back!
Gutted I had to retire but that's racing sometimes. Let's look for a good one on Monday's Superstock race!

I have heard that many of the (or some) of the competitors only buy one way tickets. They know the likelihood of death is very high. I can't imagine wanting to try anything where the possibility of death is so great. I am just a pussy. I can admire their skill and commitment, but never will I understand it.

I have always had a great deal of respect for the guys who do this. They breathe different air than I do, that's for sure.

I would like to see EBR do well, but, alas, the big twin just isn't a winning proposition in this kind of racing. Ask everyone who has tried on the Ducatis lately. The fours just make the kind of sustainable, high rpm power needed for this event.

And wow - two down already. Godspeed...

Several years ago when Brandon was first trying to do these races, I recall him being required by the host org to have "repatriation" insurance to get him home dead or alive.

“Mad Sunday” shouldn’t exist. It’s inhuman, irresponsible, and puts countless lives at risk. By all reasonable logic, it should be banned. And yet it exemplifies what makes this tiny island so special. It’s like going back in time, before Big Brother watched over us. In this world, cars won’t soon drive themselves. Gladiators will be left to fight. And bikers will rule. Millions and millions of swarming bikers. Like bees, wheelieing down the promenade
