My new toy!
I love this thing!
![]() Paul C. Buff - Vagabond Mini Lithium I was shooting at 2PM on this sunny day out on the prairie - deep dark shadows, blown out highlights - rotten conditions. With this power supply I was able to set up a couple of studio strobes and push light way into the shadows. Without lights (or a zillion reflectors and a staff to hold them) in a photo like this the underside of the canopy and wheels would look black. You would barely be able to read the "Hart-Parr" on the front of the crankcase. And there is only a little bit of flash reflection on the rear wheel extension. It's great to take the studio into the field. Plus, when I wasn't shooting I charged my iPad with it. I started with 3/4 of a charge and after 240 flashes and charging an iPad it still had 1/2 charge left.

Pictures like that look deceptively simple. It is a shame you did not shoot one with no fill flash, just a point and shoot as a comparison.
Back in the olden days before digital photography I would stay up all night shooting the interiors of a building or a house. We used 4x5 transparency film since that is what Architectural Digest required. We would take hours to set up one picture. Cool battery pack. I had a Norman power pack blow up on me as I went to remove the strobe connection. It blew a tower of flame 10 feet in the air. All it did to me was singe the hair off of my arm.
