So Porwolf, you don't want the crude processed in the US? You don't want that work occurring in the US? You don't want access to lower priced crude oil?

Canada can build different refineries. But they will still have to ship the oil or products. Would you rather they ship the oil via tanker in the Great Lakes?

The Oil already is being transported here (Houston). A pipeline is cheaper and safer than rail transportation.

What "crud" would that be? Do you speak from a position of knowledge? Are you aware of the pipeline controls that are present in virtually every pipeline in North America...

Thought not....well, had enough of you, the ignore list is a wonderful thing.

Porwolf, do you know how long it takes to build a refinery?
Are you aware of the hitches that can be thrown in to the process by horribly uninformed environmentalists like yourself?

There's a reason no new refineries have been built in the U.S. since the early '80s.

Oh, and that reliable Wikipedia info...isn't.

$8BN cost estimate for the pipeline, and $75/bbl oil which is at or near the breakeven for most NorAm shale and oil sands production. Economics of Keystone XL project today are much worse than when it was originally proposed.

Tell me about it.....I am living that particular dream......helping to build the first new refinery in North America for something like 30 years, complete with CO2 recovery etc etc.

I love how environmentalists scream their heads off when necessary facilities get built all the while using the capabilities of those facilities with nary a thought.

My standard question to them is "did you walk here or did you ride your horse?"

I still remember the bumper stickers that were popular around these parts for a while.

Just like driving to a rally to stop a new refinery.
