..remember when these guys just had an 4 1/2" angle grinder?
Then they added a bench vise, then came the mother of all tools, the drill press.

Thanks for the recommendation - subscribed and added to my list. Here's a recommendation for others that might be interested... Sampson Boat Co. Guy is a shipwright restoring (rebuilding) a 1910 sailing yacht "Tally Ho".

Excellent update. There's few things mare satisfying than plugging in the engine sensors when everything's back together.

I had missed this shorter video so I thought I'd share it just in case others had missed it as well.

I saw that. Project binky is seemingly taken a back burner. Not much on the Escargot, either.

I fear that I have watched nearly 40 videos over the last few years, in vain.

You ever send a car for paint and have it take less than a year?
Me neither...

Yeah, I have, actually.

That might excuse project Binky but what of the Escargot?

Maybe their daytime jobs are affected by this virus crap and money’s a little tight. Or, maybe the blooms off the rose and these projects have turned into a pain in the ass slog.

Who knows?

They also have a series on a spec racer build that is good fun.

Nine weeks of work and a hand rubbed finish!

I would not have the patience for that, but on the other hand, it was twelve months ago when they rolled the car off the set.

I like the color.

I also thought it was rude for Richard to suggest all that work would be wrapped around a tree within two weeks of completing the car.

Great update. IMO The best video of the series! - 40 minutes of heaven.

"Old English White" with trick paint effects... Very subtle and just lovely!

(The final assembly should also be great but I've always been a "bodywork and paint" guy)

I'll be amazed if the car goes back together in one piece .
Think of all the miles of custom wiring, sensors, switches and brackets we've suffered through !!

How many think that a one-off motor is going to start right up without a lot of fussing. And the there is the dialing-in phase !!!

Aren't all of their bolt holes now coated inside with about 15 layers of zinc oxide, filler primer, skim coat, base primer, color coats, and clear coats where applicable ?

I'm disappointed in the color choice - maybe it'll grow on me once, if and when, the car starts to come together. Looks not unlike the 'chalk' color the was so popular in 2018-2020. Especially with Porsche.

Oh, and what are the metal darts he put in the drip rails when they began ?

Wow, that is beautiful work.

Would love to see it in person. I will be interested to see the precautions they take to protect the paint during final assembly.
