Been running it for a bit.

UI is similar to iOS 8 in terms of colors / icons etc...

Only real issue was WIFI. Would just drop intermittently. Turns out to be a DNS related issue.

There have been a couple of updates to fix it and at this point it's a non issue.

Mail app is better.

I had to install it on one of my computers to use the latest Capture 1 photo editing app. I don't see any advantage over 10.9.5 and I don't like the look as well.

No issues here. The flatter look is unimportant to me. Everything seems to work fine. I've been running Yosemite for about a month.

The only big difference I saw was that I am running much much cooler now. I had downloaded outlook about a week before and it had spiked my average running temps way up! A welcome improvement. It does seem a bit quicker too.

two months now. no problems on an 08 build MacBook Pro. I don't like the look, and some things are just harder to do than easier which makes no sense to me. The new iPhoto is really stupid..

Apple user since the original 128k Mac. This is the best OS, visually and functionally, of them all.

I go back even further...but I agree! I have been using Yosemite since it was released and have no issues and really like the new look.

After living with it for a month I'm sorry I "upgraded." File movement is painfully slow, which led to a majorpanic when I moved files from one folder to another and the files completely disappeared for a couple of minutes. I've also discovered that it screwed up my permissions, and the disc utility that fixes them isn't working. I am the administrator and the computer wants me to approve my own actions (moving files to trash, etc). Safari is slower than it used to be and I hate the new interface. Safari used to be an OK adjunct to Firefox, but it's less useful now.
All in all, I spent a bunch of time installing it, a bunch of time fixing it, and I'm worse off than I was with Bret and Bart.

Agree there is something wrong with Safari.

The only app that I still experience intermittent WIFI issues with. Found switching the order of DNS servers in Network Prefs was a quicker fix than rebooting but still a pain in the ass.

Installed the latest update this morning that is supposed to improve things so so we'll see.

Have you tried rebooting in safe mode to run Disk Utility?

That's actually not uncommon.

I've run into that issue for years.

The OS thinks the files belong to another account.

Happens most frequently with external drives that have or may have had an OS or full backup of your machine.

No, I reset the permissions in the disk thingy for the startup disk. (disk -> file -> get info -> sharing and permissions). It ground away for several minutes (and found a bunch of stuff in the library that wasn't installed properly, so I'll still have to deal with that) but it's working. The irony is I could do anything with the 2nd, non-startup disk.

Apple just popped up a "You should upgrade to the free new Yosemite" dialog on my Snow Leopard box last night.

So apparently Yosemite's buggy annoying behavior is spreading to older versions of the OS!

Yea it works well. The only issues I've had were I had to buy a new version of parallels desktop (grr) and that my Verizon wireless card stopped working (Verizon sucks but work issued me the card with unlimited data so I use it). Their (Verizon's) support has been abysmal - no way I'd ever pay for their "service" with my own money. I finally found a workaround on MacForums so that the OS will recognize the device again and work correctly.

Pages, numbers, mail, messaging and FaceTime all seem to work better. I like it.
