The Company ToTo makes an excellent unit that will fit on your existing toilet. It does require a 120 Volt power source, $600.00 and up. I have installed a few of them, easy install if you have a power source.

I did a Master bath remodel for a very nice Japanese couple. The only request, or should I say demand, was a fancy Toto toilet. Design, layout, and materials was up to me. When we got done, toilet was the last piece to go in, The guys and I really wanted to "try it out" but that would not be cool. She was really happy and couldn't wait to use it.

The gizmo Toto is amazing. Reminds me to put one on the list when I remodel the MBR bath.
I was stranded in Toyko for 36 hours after the big quake. By the time I made Narita airport my digestive tract waved the white flag. Super Toto made it a non issue. Sorry to be so graphic but it's all true. One of my most contented moments actually. |

And on a related note... my wife was in a bathroom stall in Hong Kong and there was a noise-making device on the wall in the stall. If you pressed the button, it made nice nature sounds to mask your business!

i have to ask because I am dumb, what's the process on these things? Wipe ( I hope), then press the button for the magic wand to come out and shoot warm water up at your ass? It must make a wet mess on that ass. Trying to clean up all that water with toilet paper will make a bigger mess because the toilet paper falls apart once wet. Please enlighten this young grasshopper.

The heated water jets blow 'stuff' away. Minimal TP to dry for those in a hurry. Fantastic for those battling mild hemroids...not that I am. IMO very sanitary and pleasing to the hind parts.

Also what's the difference between the "shower" and "bidet" button functions? Does one jet water like a firehose up your pooper and the other one mist the entire butt area from waist to knees or what?
And is the water pre-heated or what? I'd think using the spray jet thingy on a cold winter's morning when the water in the tap is about 50 degrees would be shockingly unpleasant. This is one of those times when you absolutely wouldn't want to be waiting for any "warm up time" for the warm water to get from the tank through the pipes to the point of use...

The American brand is Brondell - prices between 3-600 depending on features-ie whether you want a blow dryer or not. It was a real blessing after my spinal cord injury, before I regained full arm function.
Its not a "blast of water" but a warm jet of medium pressure. Doesn't require revoking the man card, they're used all over EU and Asia. The other "shower" button is for women, use your imagination...

I gotta say, this thread has made me laugh so many times, but it also intrigues me, and makes me want to have "contented moments" as well. I must try one at some point in the near future !

I've got the Toto bidet seat both at home and in the office. Once you go bidet there is no going back to tp. Butt, I have had a few problems down there that required surgeries, and the bidet is a Godsend to keeping the area as clean as possible. For some, like me, the damn Crohn's Disease plays havoc with that area.
