Upcoming F1 season
How many of us have become new Jenson Button fans now that Alonso has joined McLaren?? I am getting tired of hearing over and over that Alonso is the best driver in F1. Maybe he is, but I don't see it that way.
Who do you think will be the big surprises this coming year? (If any) Who was your driver of the year of last year? Do you think Williams will win this year? I think they might. Bottas or Massa for first win? Do you think Ham and Rosey will be still be allowed to "have at it, boys"? Do you think Kimi has any gas left, or will he duck out early? F1 Bring it on!! |

I don't see how anyone could say Alonso is the best driver in F1, after last year's performances by Ricciardo and Kvyat. There are just too many variables, IMHO.

Alonso seems to regularly out drive his teammates and significantly improve a car his first year with a team so I think he is the best driver in F1. Not to mention his early memorable drive to hold off Schumacher. With that said, Jenson's been my favorite driver for a while so I hope he can give Alsonso a run for his money.
I have high hopes for Honda next year but I have a feeling the current engine configuration won't last long which really sucks for all the money that's been invested in it. They're just so quiet it loses a ton of it's appeal.

Why doesn't Hamilton get any credit? He's the only current driver to have championships with more than one team.

I'm a big Button fan, but I also think Alonso is amazing. It will be interesting to see how close they are to each other.
After Button was re-signed, he tweeted: "...some bloke called Fernando Alonso...joined the team, I hear he's pretty good!" Funny.

I think Williams is on the upswing, i think bottas will be the one who will benifit from this the most, he definately has the discipline and talent to become world champion in the next few years.
Massa is seasoned, but i think his years as number two has taken its toll on him.... Always have been a fan of button, but i think as always he just needs the car to work....

While he's the most impressive wheel to wheel driver on the grid, he seems to have a bad cloud follow him around. You have to be self centered to be a great racing driver, but maybe he's TOO self centered. Whatever the case, I'm glad to see him away from childhood fav team. The #1 wildcard is going to be Mclaren/Honda. We know their drivers are both champions, and well experienced. What will the engine and car provide? Mclaren made a high drag dog in an effort for more rear downforce last year. Ferrari focused too much on low drag at the sacrifice of handling and cooling resulting in an also ran vehicle.

I fail to see the attraction, or no traction, whichever it is. I'd like for F1 to leave my City, State and Country.

I wasn't an Alonso fan until recently. He appears to give all he has to the car and the team, doesn't publicly air much dirty laundry, and I think he might fit in well at McLaren with Jensen. I wonder what the grid is going to look like in 2015. 9, maybe only 8 teams? Unbridled greed and ruthless power grabs by Balestre, Ecclestone, Mosely, et al have done nothing but ruin the fun of the sport... |

Incorrect, MotoGP is better, so is rally. LMP1 is more technically interesting.
I watch F1 because, sadly, of the drama, not the driving (for the most part, Ricciardo was fun to watch, especially vs. Alonso). It is fun to watch the train wreck happen.

I think we may be on the cusp of a major restructuring of F1. I certainly hope so, anyway. The current format is unsustainable.

I agree. Shrinking to a handful of competitive teams, pay drivers everywhere, pointless races in propaganda locations. I wish Alonso and Burton well, Williams and Riccardio too. Wouldn't mind seeing Ferrari flounder some more.

Looking forward to next season as always. To me it will of course also be interesting to see what my fellow countryman can do in a slightly better car.

Interestingly, not one mention of Vettel at Ferrari. Along with the unknown of Alonso/McLaren/Honda, I will be watching Ferrari with "the finger" and some other big changes to either sink or swim..
Hoping for a big year from the Aussie Dan (my pick from last season). I wonder if Rosberg will be a little deflated or is hungrier than ever against Hamilton and Im hoping a few teams can take it to the Mercs this year. It will be interesting to see of anything coming from Marrusia and Caterham.

And Alonso isn't? F1 is getting pretty bad... It's less about racing now and more about drama. I want to see racing, not a damn reality TV show. F1 needs a serious makeover - the teams need more discretion in their design so they can truly innovate and let them RACE already!

F1 is so boring nowadays that I'm taking it off my cable package, along with tons of other junk stations. Oh well, have been a fan for years but times change and so do I.
