911SCRS…wow!
911SCRS….Not too many people have seen one of these!
…Sitting at Esposito's Porsche Restoration today, along with half dozen early 911S's, a few 356 Speedsters, and LOTS of hot rods. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

These are very rare. I've been collecting details on these for over ten years.
Thanks for posting. ![]()

John's is a replica. 3.2 I believe, even with air conditioning.

Yeah that's not a real SCRS, its got a few incorrect details visible in the pics.
Looks like a cool car though.

One of the original Rothman's cars is in a private collection here in Michigan:

It's interesting that they used the SC as the basis for the car, although it was in the 3.2 era.
That Kugelfischer fuel injection is a work of art! |

It did not give me one tiny bit of a problem - i worked it hard. I have had most other sorts of PI (including Lucas) on my cars none quite as good as Kugelfischer. Would love to put that rig on my 3.0 SC |

Porsche based the SCRS on the 3.0 SC because of the fact that it had ceased production. Per Group B regulation this meant that they could homologate an Evolution of the car which only required 20 production units. Had they chosen the 3.2 they would have had to build many more to meet homologation requirements.

This one is campaigning in rally meets in Germany. Past season champion.
I didn't get too deep into conversation with the owner but he said it was a factory built car. ![]() ![]() |

Here's one that was at the Cincinnati Ault Park Concours last summer. Part of a great Porsche collection from NC.

What's the difference between one of these and a 3.0 RS?

3.0RS has a center mounted front oil cooler and bumper to accommodate it w/ brake cooling holes
3.0RS has wider wheels 15" wheels & tires 8&9 215/60&235/60 vs 7&8x16 205/55& 225/50on the SCRS, both were usually fitted w/ wider wheels and tires for track use 3.0 RS has the same width flares as SCRS but the edge contour is the older narrower style rather than the later flatter wider 930 style SCRS uses Kugeklfischer MFI rather than the Bosch MFI on the 3.0RS 3.0RS 230hp@6200 29mkg@5200 SCRS 255hp@7000 25.5mkg@6500 The 3.0 was an evolution of the 2.7RS the SCRS was more an evolution of the current 930 the 3.0RS came w/ 2 f/g spoilers one was the normal street size as used on other current 911s of the era the other was the extended IROC spoiler, the SCRS only had the normal street size. the 3,0 RS hused 19(22mm opt)/26mm t-bars the SCRS 18/24mm t-bars w/ coilovers added 3.0 has twin m/c 17/22mm SCRS twin m/c 17.78/15.78mm both w/ 930 brakes both have 915 trans w/ coolers, both have internal mechanical pumps that have different architecture the 3.0 has a trombone cooler in the left front fender the SCRS has a cooler loop offf the left side of the trans, gearing was somewhat different too.
