Just back from Ft Benning.
Matthew graduated Army BCT last Thursday. He is my youngest son and the second of my young men to join the Army. Last year I started this thread I am stumped.
When he had a whoops moment. Since then he has really knuckled down and put forth his best effort to get on track and provide for his new family. I am so very proud of him, he is maturing at a rapid pace and is really enjoying every triumph. I also had the week to spend with my new Daughter-in-law and Grandson. Matt told me that she said " I guess your dad really isn't the hardass he appears to be, once you get over his wall". Pics..

You and your son have much to be proud of. Great looking family!
I just bought my son's dress uniform for his commissioning in May. He will be back at Benning in November for Infantry BOLC.

Congrats to all, what a nice story. It certainly outshines some of the other family related stories we see and hear about.
You can all be very proud. I'm certain it was a team effort.

As I remember Ft. Benning is so huge there is an Air Force base in the middle of the fort. Is it still there?

UPDATE!
I flew to Ft Carson Colorado to send Matthew off on his first deployment and to drive my daughter-in-law and grandson back to San Diego for the duration. I cannot even begin to say how proud I am of my son. He is doing everything right. It seems that just two years ago he was doing everything wrong. He has humbled me and proved me wrong and I am a better man for it.
