Wow, that news blooper was very informative on just how hard it is to break a window.
That was was swinging pretty damn hard only to have the hammer bounce off the glass.

I read today He just bought the car so he was unfamiliar with the release on the floor. He also left his cellphone charging in the waffle house when he went out to check on his dog. Sad series of unfortunate circumstances

Definitely can see how folks are so confused with the crap in cars today. Most still can't even figure a TV remote or set the other operations on a microwave. These people scare me being out on the road with their jizzmobile-wifi connected-GM crapwagons. Studies have indicated 99% of Cadillac drivers don't use turn signals.

Heat was such that he died, but he'd left his dog in the car?
Couldn't figure out how to kick the side glass or windshield? Didn't pull out the owners manual and look for emergency release? This guy is a Darwin case.

This is nuts but have you ever sat in a corvette? Its like a cocoon. You sit on the floor in a pod almost. Would be very hard for an able.bodied man to get legs out from under the wheel and then kick out the glass...

Yup, totally with you on this one. I can't get over the fact that he left the dog in the car with all windows shut. It's like the god of all dogs just slapped him for being a total idiot.

Maybe he went out to check on the dog. Found the dog dead. Was overcome with grief and overwhelming guilt . Decided to go the way the dog did. That does not fit with the battery connection issue.....but still........

BTDT in my 96 Silverado on the boat launch with boat sinking. Electronic tech! Supra ski boat was new to me and I did put the plug in the hull. Launched the boat and started to pull out. Truck stalls. I'm locked in! Door locks jammed electronically. Windows the same. Why do the doors lock when you put it in gear? Why do those side post battery terminals decide to fail? Oh, the boat is sinking and I'm locked in a truck that won't restart. Luckily the battery terminal somehow made contact and I was able to get out and jimmy the terminal connection and get the trailer back under the boat.
I now understand that the Supra has two drain plugs in the hull due to its unusual hull design. However, I don't understand the design flaw in the battery terminal and dependence of door locks on electricity. That's why I like vehicles without electronic gizmetry. I saved my boat. The Vette driver lost his life. We aren't the only ones who have been victimized by electronic technology. Does my 96 Silverado have a manual door release? I don't think so. |

Though you're right on with all of them having schitt electron's, whiz bang this and that components. But even parts that should be so simple. Just look at a glove box or console door. I still laugh at the POS monkey motion cupholder in our MB. There must be 75 separate little parts to it, almost all plastic. I hate stuff like that, was going to remove it but other family members use it. Ford is whacked on this stuff and promotes stupid driving. My guess, there's going to be day Federal law will require self-assist parking. And while drifting here, look at the latest faulty air-bag fiasco.

^You need to share a beer with a service manager of a Cadillac dealership. I think they train and are sworn in to a code of silence.

My old MB kept having shorts in all the wiring harnesses. The old Russian guy who worked on it for me told me that the German government mandated that they use bio-degradable insulation on all the wiring to make it easier to recycle. The insulation would break down over time. Is that true or was that just some bull he was feeding me?

More about wire harnesses. Bizarre but read somewhere that mice are attracted to certain wire sheathing. They're more attracted to and likely chew on the type having a partial organic formula in it. Anyone know more about this or verify?
