A buddy and I were taking a break, standing on the flight line in Bien Hoa, Viet Nam...he was having a cig.
All of a sudden I felt a thud and deep pain on my temple...I feel to the ground...I thought for sure I had been shot. As I got up, my buddy placed his pack of Marlboro cigs down next to a dazed and confused brown beetle...they were the same size. . Some nasty-ass critters here in AZ, too. Huge insects give me the creeps!

I hold a model train camp every summer for kids. One year they captured a large beetle and strapped it to a flat car.
