None. And I'm cool with that.

Well, I am assuming that by paying a high price for your cocktail, you're getting a bit more than just the cocktail. Ambience, history, etc. are surely worth something, yes?

You should try a few of these.

From my 2001 pub crawl in Ireland

1. Thierafurth Inn, Dublin road, Kilcoo

2. Maginns, Castlewellan

3. Old Tom, in the square, Castlewellan

4. The Fountain, Main st. Castlewellan

5. Several others that I have forgotten the names of.

I don't understand the "none and proud of it" attitude. I don't think motion is suggesting he only drinks at establishments on the list, just that he enjoys a nice cocktail in upscale setting from time to time. Having a bud light in a dive bar in Iowa is not the same thing as having a craft cocktail or rare bourbon in a world class bar in NYC, London, etc.

I plan on going to the Aviary soon for drinks with my wife. We are going to the restaurant cousin of Aviary, Alinea, in a couple of weeks for her birthday. #26 restaurant in the world. We typically prefer takeout from our favorite sushi spot, but sometimes it's nice to experience the finer things. It helps that it is one block from our house.

None. I don't get much out of hanging around in bars. I find them kind of boring for the most part and haven't really done that in years. I certainly don't see any value in bragging about getting ripped off for overpriced drinks in pretentious settings. If that's your thing, fine. It's not mine.

Union Oyster House is probably a 10 minute walk from my office (on those days that I actually go into the office - I try to avoid it). I've never been seeing as I don't really eat oysters or seafood but maybe it'd be worth popping in at some point just to say I've been. Dunno. I personally like John Harvard's (although I haven't been there in quite a while).

I'm really big on seeking out the finer things in life, but not paying the price. Kind of a game for me. When in Bangkok, I always head up to Above 11 in the evening for a wonderful view of the city and a $12 glass of wine, which is a pretty steep price for a drink in Bangkok. The view is totally worth it, as is the ambience. Some things I just won't do, like paying $25 for a Singapore Sling in Singapore at Raffles.

LOL, that's a Traveler Kids shirt I made for Spring 11. It was a big seller! Too funny.

The tiger turned out great.

Been to Schumann's, Munich , good times all around, fancy, too but Maison Premiere, (Brooklyn) New York is a block away from my place an I would say one of the many businesses/reasons this neighborhood has lost ALL its charm. Yet Another up-tight place. Not many happy people work there and they are not even grumpy in an interesting way...pretentious to the hilt. But the beer and oysters are okay but the theatric's get droll fast.
